They look yummy right about now, but I've always preferred when they're cut into steak fries. They need some pepper as well.
There's this place on the 3'rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica that does Belgian Fries with 30 something choices of dipping sauces. Hard to go wrong with ketchup though. American classic.

I'll take the second picture. Give me a pool of ketchup to dip with instead of drizzling it all over. I'm a control freak when it comes to stuff like that.

yes, unless they are sweet potato fries, then different dips apply, honey based things have turned out well in that case

Just had a picnik basket size mess of jalepeno cheese fries. So much cheese. Had to use fork. 3 people couldn't even take it down. Also a chicken fried chicken fried egg on a soft sandwich roll. One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. Turns out this place is downtown and serves breakfast 24/7. Nice. I still have a lot to discover in my new city

I really like dipping in hot sauce and ranch sometimes.
Ketchup is good too. I like multiple sauce options..

Hummus does sound better. I usually pass on fries or go with rice, but fries are comfort food to me.
Late 80's, Nectar's, Gravy fries, Phish.....ahhh college......

The only time I ever put ketchup on fries, is when they suck. Good fries are better w/o. Different sauces, on the other hand....

I always order a side of gravy for my fries. Once you start dippin in gravy you never go back. Beef is best but I'll do chicken if I have to.

No man dippin is the way to go. If I wanted to pour the gravy over I'd just order mashed potatoes. Sounds like your lady knows whats up.
