I'm up to page 925 or so of IT.
There's SO much that's never going to make the movie and that might hurt it a bit.

Is there a movie better than the book? Jaws? Never read the book.. but maybe? Imagination is always going to add that extra texture...It'd be hard, unless they just re-did the story better than a shitty book

Is there a movie better than the book? Jaws? Never read the book.. but maybe? Yes. I think it happens more frequently than is commonly acknowledged. Last Temptation of Christ: book was very good, but the film was great. The ending was more fully executed, and while the novel also makes a significant point of Judas's conduct being essential more than malicious, Harvey Keitel's performance and his Judas's final exchange with Defoe's Jesus drives the point home better than the novel. One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest: I think the 1st person narrative was a distraction. Sometimes, it's as if we are supposed to feel that the Chief is the only person paying attention. I think it works better to make "Jack" the focus in a way that demonstrates that all eyes are on him and the impact he'll come to have on each patient's self-perspective.

Is there a movie better than the book? Jaws? Never read the book.. but maybe? Fight Club the movie is way better than Fight Club the book. Of course I saw the film before I read the book but damn was that a highly overrated read. I bet Jaws the movie is better than Jaws the book. I read another book from the author of Jaws about a giant squid and it was pretty enjoyable. I was visualizing Spielbergianisms while reading it but it's hard to not picture chief Brody and the boys as the characters even though they have nothing to do with it. Is Jaws a good book? Definitely in top 10 of movies.

I'd agree with both but I haven't read The Last Temptation of Christ, but I've seen the movie a few times and to me it's like Goodfellas during biblical times. The performances of Dafoe, Keitel and Hershey were amazing and the mood and music were startling. I did read Scorsese's autobiographical book about movies and religion and learned he made an entirely different version years earlier and scrapped it and reshot it. He switched to his Fear and Loathing in New York during this timeframe and released After Hours which is a great mystery.

Yeah, he has a lot of experience...That instance of me floating outside my body the other day revived my interest in such matters......although I do not want it to distract me from the practice of just sitting...A very experienced person in meditation told me I had experienced a siddhi and not to let it distract me....this I was feeling anyway, but I am still interested in what this book will have to say. How has hemi-sync worked for you...or have you messed w/it much? I like the task of getting down into that state, although it takes time and concentration...Watched a Tom Campbell vid the other day about how all that got started w/ Monroe and what led to hemi-sync (binaural beats), etc...was great.

Epperson--his solfeggio suite, cycle and some other stuff. ive really gotten to some really blissful places just having these on for hours at a time... seem to lull the cats to sleep as well.

started a David Deida book... The Way of the Superior Man: A Spiritual Guide to Mastering the Challenges of Women, Work, and Sexual Desire
i got alot of his books and his tapes as well... mostly focus on sex, love, relationships
didnt get far but definatley like his viewpoint and concepts he is presenting
“Your woman knows your weaknesses better than anybody. She knows where you will falter and give up. She knows the degree of mediocrity you will settle for. And, she knows your true capacity as a full man, a man of free consciousness and love. Her gift, if she is a good woman, is to test you with her darkest moods, over and over and over, until your consciousness is unperturbed by feminine challenge, and you are able to pervade her with your love, just as you are here to pervade the world. In response to your fearless consciousness, she will drench your world in love and light.” ― David Deida, The Way of the Superior Man

^ It can be said that we are mirrors toward each other....
The trick in finding 'your' mirror is finding one that can think critically, has a big heart, and an open and like mind on your level....*sigh*...I don't think it is meant to happen for me in this life.
