Nice. I have a couple other Pynchon books to read...but all the reading I've been doing lately has been comic books.

Started Lisey's Story by Stephen King the other day.
It reads like a long apology to his wife for being a drunk/coked up mess for a lot of their time together. The book is all about the wife of a famous author dealing with his "untimely" death.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_QuinnAll the political talk had me thinking of one of the most influential books Ive read, Ishmael. Im sad to see Daniel Quinn passed away earlier this year.

So, I finished all the books I had been reading at the same time. Well, all except Finnegans Wake and IV, and as I said before, even though I only have a chapter remaining of FW, I intend to take the last one really show. And, IV is the Klosterman essay book that I am just picking up periodically anyway. But, I finished MASH, Motherless Brooklyn, The Ground Beneath Her Feet, the Brautigan, the Most Dangerous Book and any others I've mentioned of late.
So, after that, last week while we were on vacation, I re-read the Odyssey (the prose adaption--i think it's pointless to read Homer in verse translation since it is mostly read for its narrative rather than its poetic purposes anyway).
So, now, I am rereading Joyce's Ulysses, and that should occupy me through the rest of the year.

I just finished Native Tongue by Carl Hiassen. It was my first time reading him and it was pretty enjoyable. Will probably read a few more by him and pick up one of his kids books to read with my daughter. I'm now a couple chapters into blink my Malcom Gladwell and it's pretty fascinating if you like psychology.

Not a Gladwell fan. He goes off half cocked a way too much lately
Im thinking of picking up the Hannibal Lector series of books. The movies/TV shows are pretty damn good.

Thomas Harris is good at writing suspense. Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal were all really good books. I may have liked Hannibal the best because I really loved how Harris described Lector's mind and how it works.

He recently wrote an article excusing my ex's school of not having a diverse student body because they spend too much on the dining hall.
He was pretty off base and hadn't even talked to anyone at the school(Bowdoin). They had a lot of kids from all over the country going there on full rides.
He also had a bonkers appearance on Bill Simmons podcast.

I may have liked Hannibal the best because I really loved how Harris described Lector's mind and how it works. Have you watched the show? Bryan Fuller was super about keeping as close to the source material as possible. It's damn suspenseful and grizzly as hell for a network TV show. Damn shame that NBC cancelled it like idiots.
