I want my hopslam in the cold while there is snow on the ground. Thats just me. I'll look forward to having it for Xmas too though. I get burnt out with all the holiday ales that a great Ipa in there would be a win.

Most beer companies have removed the Born on Date. They're all going to an Enjoy by Date. This is troubling me.

Most beer companies have removed the Born on Date. They're all going to an Enjoy by Date. This is troubling me. I think different styles are impacted differently by time. Some retain a "fresh" or unaltered taste for longer and then others actually gain character over time rather than just going bad after x time. So essentially the enjoy by is a mark from the brewer that after that date, taste may be impacted to the point it is no longer representative of the intended product. It's like a sell by date on milk is going to be different than a piece of chicken. They both have different timelines for freshness and after a certain time. It is no longer representative of the intended product (spoiled milk, rotten meat). That said, I think they should provide both dates so the consumer can also decide for themselves when they think the product loses its fresh character.

Should have followed your link first, lol. But yeah, I think both dates are necessary.

I like to see the born on dates on the craft beers. I can make the determination on how old is too old to purchase.

I scanned a production date qr code on a brew the other day and it straight up didn't work because the link was bad or changed. I bought it anyways and it was still good.

I was at a brewery on Monday and they had a fire sale - $8.00 for a 16oz 4 pack. I figuredit was going to be old so I looked at the date. The born on was June 2023; beer was a keller bier. Took the risk in buying but not yet in drinking it.

I don’t usually risk it with hops/haze 2-3 months past the canning date or if there isn’t one listed. Other styles I don’t care as much, but I want fresh hops. Usually don’t even buy that kinda stuff from beer stores, I’ll get it fresh from local breweries

And to be honest. I enjoy drinking local but the hop profiles do not differ much in my area. Actually all of Ohio's Ipa's have me board. Masthead is the best one right now.

All these breweries that have popped up in the past 10-15 years. Do you ever really tell a brewer I dont like the beer. No, they're like tattoos. You always say "Yes I like your tattoo. Not all these brewers are as creative as youd think, I think.

I'm going to get toned so my beer tastes better.
Actually, hazy hearted tastes good. Out of this 12'lver variety I bought, trusting Bell's.

I cant find a west coast fresh 6'er for the past 5 years. The bigger distributors running them all out. Have you seen a green flash or ballast point beer near you lately? RIP Poo.

I didn't even know green flash was still around Also I believe ballast point went distro got funked up when constellation brands bought them for an un godly amount of money Then the micro/craft revolution really took off and kind of left them in the dust Haven't seen ballast point in quite some time , always did like the sculpins
