I'm not a huge Marzen fan. Never really have been, but I had this the other night and thought it was fantastic. Proving once again, Ballast Point doesn't make a bad beer.

Fresh hop season kicks pumpkin's ass This. Although I did have a couple Dogfish Head Punkin Ales over the weekend that I enjoyed.

Local brewing company around here: Dundee Oktoberfest is delicious... Interesting. Most of their beer is pretty mediocre.

Two red ales to check out if they're available. Fat Head's Bonehead and Great Lakes' Nosferatu. Both citrusy and hoppy reds.Good stuff

Also has anyone tried Ballast Point's Indra Kunindra? I wanted to give it a shot but went with a staple instead.

Have not. HAd some more grapefruit sculpin this weekend. Saranac's Clouded Dream is a great, I'm going to call it a white IPA.It is part of their High Peak series. I went and picked up more of it for 3.99 a 4 pack. The imperial IPA sucks. Nasferatu is a really good beer. You're right www.saranac.com/our-beers/high-peak-series/?age-verified=c3bb68da4d

I've only ever had Sarnac's pumpkin ale. It was good but most of their stuff isn't all that available around here. I picked up Unita's Detour Double IPA still haven't tried it but I've never been really impressed with their stuff but thought I'd give it another shot.

That Indra Kunindra is interesting, but I would never order another one, if that makes sense.

Yeah completely. One of those worth the try but not something to drink. Stone's Chai Spice Imperial Russian Stout is of the same category for me.

Great Lakes does have a good Oktoberfest. I like all they're seasonal releases. The flagship not so much.

Lake Erie Monster is my favorite by Great Lakes, which is odd because usually I gravitate towards stouts. I'm not a fan of their Dortmunder either, or their Christmas ale. Meh. I fucking hate cinnamon in my beer. Just no.

Exactly like that chai Stone IRS. Well done, but I could never drink another one and be fine with it.
