A common scam here is to get a call from a stranger who says "hello aunt/grandma," and then they give a sob story and say they need some money sent. The idea is to get some elderly person on the line who's suffering from age related memory issues and won't take issue that they don't have a grandson named Juan, or just won't remember, but will do anything to help family.
Seems like the dumbest scam going, but I guess it's a numbers game. Probably only hits on one out of few hundred calls, but that's probably all they need to make it profitable.
Happened to me once. Guy called me grandpa and to figure out the scam a bit more I asked who his parents are. "Grandpa, you remember me, don't you?" but would never give a name of his parents, just go back to the sob story, please help me out. Tell him he's got a wrong number and he insists he doesn't. Eventually I told him I don't have any kids so if he's sure he's got the right number and person he's gonna need to work it elsewhere.

The anxiety sets in as I gear up for Tribes Red Rocks run. 2 nights, then an axe the cable and wave spell set at another outside venue.
Their last show I've seen since NYE 2019/2020 with their 5 night run at the Tabernacle in Atlanta.
Their last show since belly up.
Fuck it's been way too long.

Didn't see them as much as I wanted in those years, but always managed to do West Coast ter. Really dug the vibe of it not being mega-ter in mega-sized venues and those on ter knowing each other because the scene was a lot smaller. And of course the music was On with a capital O. Reminds me of early-90's Phish ter when the scene was a lot more intimate. Didn't see them as much in the latter part of the decade, but did when the opportunity was there.

Damn I thought for sure they would have a late night set at Summer Camp like usual... technically like every other summer camp appearance they have.
I wonder what tte schedule will be.
Also I really hope they play twice.
So far the Same But Different festival is a crazy thought seeming im going all the way to California for one show the month before their NAPA valley outing in California in October.
At this point every ticket I could buy was purchased.

I have a feeling this could be a very epic outing.
If tribe has kept up.... just before covid hit they were playing at levels that blasted straight through the stratosphere.
Wave spell 2019 ... fuck 12 sets of tribe in 4 days ... heard so many things.
Personally I want to hear a very dark Grizzly, where I will get primal and unleash the beast when things get crunchy.
