I need to bring up the subject of music downloads and how we should go about this on proboards. As some of you may remember, I hosted 2 download forums here some years ago that were very cool. Both of those places got wiped away by the powers that be at proboards quite unceremoniously, yea they won't be polite like daveo either, it will just vanish one day. So I'm thinking it probably isn't a good idea to have the newMF thread in here with us so that we don't risk a complete shut down. thoughts on a solution? |

When daveo hands over the new mf thread, as he has agreed to do, we can maybe put a link to a dl thread that is off site? I'm looking for ideas. Help me figure it out please.

I think we should just put all the links on a Google docs shareable spreadsheet. That way everyone can access and we don't compromise the forums

daveo has agreed to give me the mf thread in portable form so we can resurrect it. We will have the entire thread. Some good stuff in there. He has to follow through though.....

before you add anything to the document we need to verify the links are still live... and keep shit organized.
i have a bunch of tabs on there and make sure you dont fuck up the formatting.
im going to build a search page so we can search by artist or date
use full date xx/xx/xxxx when entering show to document
Use standard full artist name when labeling "Band" or "Artist" fields for search purposes
if people don't use the same names for all the links for a band or dj or whatever the search field wont work as well.
someone see if they can access that thing
still has a lot of work and polish to be done to it.

This is gonna be tricky. its going to take someone or a bunch of us time... what would be even cooler in my opinion is people upload all their shit from their hd's onto there with links... then we all win.. with our powers combined i bet there are a lot of terbytes out there we could put torrent links for tv shows and shit in here too.. |

plus if we start wityh our own stuff we know we arent dealing with sketchy old links from who knows where
everyone just keep one folder open to public on dropbox or whatever we pick/ you pick individually to host
