You couldn't do that here. Oddly enough. Basically every public building has either a security guard at each entrance or some other kind of measure to control access. The schools have one way in and one way out. And a cop. Surrounded by an iron fence. There are guns, but only sportsmen, cops, criminals have them. Not random emo guy who is butthurt about facebook.
America is fucking dangerous.

Poo made a great point in response to Lakai's commend and DPB's agreeance regarding the Shoe bomb and TSA thing..
The TSA is another Rip0ff piece of legislation passed by using American's emotions during tough events.
Dirty Rice, I we need lot's of education and we need to end war abroad #1. Turn our military defence budget into Education and positive things.

I also think the failure of our healthcare system and prison industry and the educational industry is a cause of this, the way we trat mental illness and other things is fucked.

too weak, you should have to go through TSA security leaving your house every morning. What if we all become TSA agents and scan ourselves before walking out the door each morning?

I'm not sure it was a great point because it missed the entire essence of the comparison the TSA is irrelevant, the point was about a lack of response in general to dozens of school shootings.

Those are just things that exacerbate the main issue of lax gun regulations, it was only just this year that Oregon passed legislation requring a criminal background check before something can buy a hand gun and you don't need a permit or license to own any kind of gun.

I feel these shootings are more a moral issue. Life's hard, broken home, and mental illness are the real issues here. But I guess since you cant fix those you go after the guns. I don't blame Obama I just wish we'd stop breeding so many puppies.

millions of people all around the world come from broken homes and suffer from mental illness though and they don't become mass murderers. I agree that we need to deal with those issues much much better in the US but guns are very legitimate issue as well.

I agree. I dont think video games are really any help these days. Cable television.
Im not leave it to beaver old fashioned but all these little things introduced to young minds just brings fantasy closer to reality. Its happening earlier and faster than ever.

In his speech last night, after the gun rampage at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, President Barack Obama made an unusual request: "I would ask news organizations [to] tally up the number of Americans who’ve been killed through terrorist attacks over the last decade and the number of Americans who’ve been killed by gun violence, and post those side-by-side on your news reports." See the chart below.

Obama made his remarks before he even knew what exactly happened. He is just using a tragedy to push his agenda. Also, ever notice how he only makes these types of comments when mass shooting happen? These types of shootings only account for a half of a percentage of the total gun homicides that occur annually in this country. Over half of the gun homicides are due to gang violence, many of which in occur in his home city of Chicago which has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. Odd he never addresses that situation.

Not unlike the Cheney administration did following 9/11 i.e the Patriot Act. a war against a nation with little or nothing to do with Al-Queda and an executive branch that is nearly beyond control.

what does that have to do with this situation? Nothing but I thought it was a point worth mentioning. It's American politics. Take advantage of domestic crises to push a preconceived agenda.
