I hit 3 shows all last Saturday
1st was an acoustic trio at steady hand brewery
Then Benny Burle Galloway doing acoustic tunes with a few other guys followed by a local band, Migrant Worker for 2 sets which was really good (check out thier album on spotify or wherever, its why I went). They sound like a mix between the heartbreakers and vetiver sort of.
THEN I headed over to Dixie Tavern and was blown away by this wild Nashville rockabilly group, Hillbilly Casino. They wee insane and most of the fanbase was dressed like greasers, pin up girls or flamboyant western and punk, it was so loud and intense, I had a blast.
This weekend Im hitting Greensky Saturday, maybe something at Steady Hand before, not sure.

I had a good run last week with Umphrey's and Tauk
Next up, we're taking our son to his first music festival- GroundUp in Miami. We have beach gear, ear protection for him and lots of sunscreen! I can't wait for him to see Snarky Puppy. And they are doing a Saturday afternoon masters class called "Getting Weird with Keyboards" which he is pretty excited about (he plays piano)

Starting tomorrow it's The Wailers -> Andy Frasco VS Big Something -> A Pretty Good Grateful Dead Tribute Band
All at the same place, all walking distance, all free (for me)...but I'm still not sure if it's enough to draw me away from the phexico stream.

Wasn't feeling it, left after 3 songs. Didn't hate it or anything, just not good enough to keep me there.
Drummer not up to snuff, a key's player and a guy on electric sax which is like two keys players...
My mind never left the phish show.
Show should have been in the shard dungeon and not the front room venue.
Not giving Big Something the mental axe, but definitely no more frasco. Guy is determined to die like jim morrison.

I need your help for thursday jambase Jerryoke at the winery Stormy Chromer in Grand Rapids Billy Strings in Bay City Jerryoke is my favorite night of the week and close to home Stormy is at founders.. One of my besties is the drummer and id ride with him and show my support.. Maybe convince senatooorofspace to come down Billy Strings is my least fav of the 3 (sorry fam just not huge on jamgrass rn) is the furthust away but would be goin with my bff shaggy and he wants me to go.. Not your moms 🌮 if youre goin im in 100% So my decision would be based on the amount of droogs at each show Btf is making a strong case for Strings, but Senatoor offers the chance to dubstep and I feel the droog cieling will be higher (no pun intended) at that show. |
