Dopapod is playing Chicago on my b-day. We may go the wife is seeing Norah Jones Sunday. Didn't realize Mavis Staples is opening, that's wild she should be headlining! You should def go to Dopapod. Support the dudes on their last jaunt for however long they stay off the road. They were killin last night. I saw Norah Jones with my wife a couple months ago. Knew I would enjoy it but I fucking loved it. Had no idea Brian Blade was her drummer, super cool to see him in that setting. Had only previously caught him in Brad Mehldau’s trio. Her band was hella tight and her new record has some great tunes. Leon Michels always producing 🔥 records. Emily King opened the show I saw which was cool, but Mavis rules. Just saw her last week at the Willie Nelson 4th of July show |
