It was 10 ears ago this spring that I was first introduced to Ozric Tentacles through the Wakarusa Fest Forums. Someone sent me some burnt mix cd's of thiers and Gov't Mule. It just happened to be when I joined Jambase as well. I just realized that and am about to go see Ozrics for the 2nd time now. I can almost always turn thier music on and it take me there. Love it.

I think I am in for round two of TAUK sense the show is three blocks from my home.
A little report for Salmon: I think they bring some good enough energy to get the crowd moving, but I disliked their inability to keep a groove going. Every song had a distinct end, pause, and then new start to another song, which I feel takes away from my personal concert experience.
If we're talking up and coming 4 piece bands with no lyrics, I was definitely much more impressed with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, than Tauk. But, they're worth catching two nights in a row, I guess...

That's interesting because I came across Tauk at about the same time I did PPPP and I much prefer Tauk. As my friend Spo says (his second rule of partying) "To each his bone."

I decided to stay home. Energy's just not there tonight.
There's a lot of hype around Tauk, opening for this UM and STS9 and what not. But, is it warranted? Maybe... They have potential, but I wouldn't say they bring anywhere near the energy of say...Particle.
They certainly have a very good manager and publicist, which I guess is an easy thing to do when the bassist in your band's father is a billionaire who owns madison square garden. That's gotta rough out a lot of edges regarding tour life.
