Any quit? Or in the process of quitting? It was always a nasty habit for me that escalated pretty quickly, like within a year it was a pack a day.. It has been a month with no cigs (except one hit when I was at THAT level).. I know the exception is kind of bullshit, but still, if I can live the rest of my life with taking one hit a month (not that I intend to at all), I would be perfectly excuberant about that. Honestly, the way I quit.. I was hungover as shit one day, and didn't smoke at all, then I said, "fuck it." No real cravings except for that 1 hit last week (it was a WTFOW) and I barely remember it.

i quit since like last fall until recently, I only did and only do smoke when drinking, but i was smoking a lot when drinking and then went to ecigs and dug it for a while, even kind of stopped using it cause in the end it just doesnt have any umph (still helpful for not smoking cigs).
I realized how much cheaper my cigs are down here in GA and have gotten a couple packs over the summer.

Damn, I struggled with trying to "quit" for some 2 years where I had it in my mind a couple times.. got like one week max, everyone was saying go the e-cig route, not trying to replace one with the other.. Use to think they were vap rigs for THC, haahah

I smoked a pack a day for like 8 years...and I quit cold turkey almost 11 years ago. Haven't smoked since! They totally disgust me now.

i quit several years ago and never looked back. i feel better, im not wasting money, hurting my body, etc. i read Alan Carr's Stop smoking book and it really tipped the scales for me. i quit several times before, and getting through the first day was always the hardest part, but came back several times before ditching them for good. ive had a few since then, but still don't like the way they make me feel overall perhaps because now my mind is made up about it and my body agrees.

All real cool guys, I smoked a pack or more for 5 years +, I'm only 24, so pretty much, 'now or never,' how old were y'all when you quit?

I was a pack and a half/two packs of marlboro reds a day on normal days, and much more when I was partying.
I also didn't have this big cathartic 'THIS IS MY LAST CIGARETTE' moment when I quit.
One day just turned to two, then three, and then four was difficult and I xanax'd myself into day 5, and it was all down hill from there.
The only thing I miss about me quitting cigarettes (along with alcohol and choosing to be a vegan) is the socialized aspect of having cigarette breaks, and going out drinking with your friends, etc.
I've definitely had a stronger social life before than I do now.
But the problem with that was, those people I frequented with were perfectly fine with the way I was, while I was not.
So that came to a head. And, now my life is what it is.

I forgot about how much I smoked while partying. Bleh. So gross While I do miss the social aspect as well, I'm so happy that I quit and was able to keep with it.

its funny, they are definitely a self destructive thing for me. I will smoke like half a cig and get all fucked u and lethargic, sometimes even sort of panicky like im too high. It doesnt last log but the fatigue sometimes does, im not sure why i do it, lol, just another head change I can rationalize, hahaha, geez, thats bad
I remember how great a cigarette was, and sometimes, I smell it in the right environment and get chills of nostalgia, just itching for that "ahhhhh" that I remember.
anyway, good luck

I smoke now and again, probably around like 2 or 3 pouches and a couple packs a year, give or take. I've quit for extended periods many times before but I don't think i'll ever truly "quit" i've never really had a problem of not being able to stop when I've wanted to though, the addiction factor that a lot of people experience just isn't there for me.

Quit cold turkey 7 years ago when I was 42 after having quit about 6 or 7 times before but always going back. Haven't had even a puff since then and can't see myself going back. When I see that I'm going to pass someone on the sidewalk who's smoking I take a deep breath and hold it till I pass them. Can't stand the smell anymore.
Chewing on licorice root was a big help for me.

i quit when i was 24--except i really didn't because i smoked as long as 2 weeks ata time for the next 15 years. and most likely, I have not had my very last cigarette. But, i have probably had about a carton in the last 20 years, and if that kills me, these things are as bad as those tv ad actually say.
