Kids today are missing out on that experience.

I didn't have Saturday mornings like that. I was on a duckpin bowling league. I miss that.

Yeah man, Saturday mornings were very special when I was a kid too. Cable and satellite tv destroyed Saturday mornings for the youth.

WB/CW was the last network that still did it for years but they finally put up the white flag like two years ago.

I generally didn't care for the Saturday cartoons. They were all newer (at the time) and made about video games and breakfast cereal characters. They were not nearly as good as the after school cartoons that were the classics.
One caveat....
Pee Wee's playhouse was on Saturdays. Gold.

I would also say that video games ruined it for a lot, I remember waking up on saturdays and playing nfl quarter back club on snes way back when, and then watch a bit if cartoons. Now days I'd imagine its worse for kids with mommy and daddys tablet and shit like that... I do miss those chill saturday mornings though.

when i grew up Sat morn cartoons was the main event.. didnt have video games, didnt have the cartoon network.. Sat morn you watched the cartoons before doing anything else. not like that anymore. had the Friday preview before the new season. plotted and planned which new shows you were going to watch and how to handle an overlap. it was nice.
we didnt watch to many cartoons after school if any. we went outside and played. it was all mostly sesame street or electric company anyway though the UHF stations ran a few kid orientated shows.
i remember one Japanese show with giant robots and whistles and Methuselah
