Watched that new HBO Doc/Series The Crime Of The Century. The Sackler family is fucking awful. Finished it last night. I knew a lot of the shady shit that went down, but not all of it. My god. My favorite part was the Republicans from hard hit areas, stumping for the language change in the act that would prevent the DEA from issuing stop orders to the distributors, essentially allowing them to flood their districts with “medicine” for those who desperately need it. Disgusting.

I watched Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage on HBO Max last night. Shit show. I watched it last weekend. I guess I had forgotten all about Woodstock 99 and assumed this was about Woodstock 94 with all the mud throwing and shit. This was absolutely bonkers and seems crazy that only one person died. They tried blaming drugs, MTV, the weather, the air force base, etc... That shit was all on the promoters.

Disease was followed by a feedback-enhanced jam before Mike redirected the band into SOAM; Fish continued playing the 2001 drumbeat underneath parts of SOAM. The end of Melt contained a speech from Trey that mentioned how happy the band was to be playing for their audience. Trey also spoke of the damage wrought at Woodstock 1999. He subsequently quoted Turning Japanese when mentioning the upcoming trip to Japan. Woodstock, which made its Phish debut at this show, was unfinished

Just an unreal story and it really took me back to the 80's. This guy was my favorite part of the whole thing, he was killing me. This weeks Simpsons opened with 5 minutes on Class Action Park.

The Music Box series on HBO has been pretty decent so far. They did the Woodstock 99 doc, then followed up with DMX and Alnnis Morissette. The Alanis one was interesting how famous she got and how quickly. Her original band which was thrown together at the last minute had Taylor Hawkins who became the drummer for Foo Fighters and Chris Chaney on bass who later joined Jane's Addiction. Kenny G is next and it should be good, it definitely discusses how he got really popular and how a lot of other musicians hate him.

Was the DMX one worth watching?

Was the DMX one worth watching? I'm glad I watched it but I liked the other two better. I honestly didn't know much about DMX. There's a lot of footage with him around his people which is a little different and it seems likely he died before they were completely done filming so it kind of just ended. Dude battled some demons.
