The Good:
- Hopefully this will be the last we see of the Clintons.
- America is due for one-term President.
- This will energize the progressive base. If Bernie's too old, someone with the same ideals will rise to take his place. Could be the best thing that's happened for progressive's as opposed to a potential 8 years of center-right, status quo Hilary. If Trump is as bad as suggested, he'll be like 8 years of Reagan and 4 of Bush The Elder condensed into one term. Like in '92, the country will be begging for a change. Better to get through a shorter 4 year night than spend 8 in a standstill that just delays getting to the light that much sooner.
- Like in '08, obviously the country wanted change. This time it was a change from the establishment and the status quo. Hopefully after one term of Trump the country will be more willing to accept and support a change in the opposite direction instead of merely a return to the establishment and current status quo.
- It will be entertaining to watch Trump try to govern and be under the spotlight. Looking forward to watching Trump navigate through all the details and try to build his Wall. The spectacular failure that's sure to follow such a folly could be his undoing.
- It will be interesting to watch what happens with the GOP. They control the show for at least the next two years, but how will the obvious schisms in the party play out? Trump doesn't like a lot of Republicans and a lot of Republicans don't like Trump. Trump's base may have placed an anti-establishment President in the WH, but the House and Congress are still thoroughly establishment. This may be a case of Trump and the varying factions of the GOP being given enough rope to hang themselves, opening the door for a more progressive alternative in 2020 instead of a Hilary retread.
- I went through something similar having lived through 8 shitty years of Ronald Raygun, 4 crappy years of Bush, and then like most of us, 8 years of W. We all survived. You will to. Unless ...(see Ugly) We don't really appreciate the good until we've gone through the bad. This could be a good toughening up for those who are too young to remember the last truly dark days and create an overwhelming demand for real, positive change.
- Fuck all that noise about the Wall, anti-immigrants/latino/black/etc., the ugly tone, etc.. Maybe, just maybe, Trump will come through on some of what he said. Let's see if he can bring manufacturing plants and jobs back to the US. I'm not holding my breath with expectations that with a snap of his fingers he'll make anything at all great, but it wouldn't be so terrible if he can accomplish some of the more positive things he's promised while leaving all the bullshit behind. I could just be deluding myself with this, esp. realizing somewhat how the global economy works at a basic level - those plants and jobs ain't comin' back.
- I'm sure there's several other positive ways of looking at this outcome. Did I mention no more Clintons?
The Bad:
- Too obvious and too many to list. Since he offered Kasich the VP slot and told him he could run both foreign and domestic policies, I wonder how much Trump will actually do and how much he'll let his minions do for him. He seems more interested in being a figurehead than actually doing the job. He might not even delegate like Reagan did, and just say 'do whatever, just make it huge and bigly.' That could be good, but I think it'll mostly be bad.
- What might happen to immigrants and "others" who aren't white. I feel sorry for anyone who over the next four years is going to be living in a country built on immigration but isn't white. Any talk of the wife and I ever living in the US is on hold for at least four years. I wouldn't subject her to an America that is becoming more white nationalist where being 'anti-PC' will come out of the shadows and be accepted for what it really is - hatred for "others."
The Ugly:
- Welcome to the new America where you're going to get everything Trump promised. Any Republican Congressperson who is considered obstructionist to Trump will be voted out in 2018 by the majority Trump base to be replaced with Trump loyalists who will act as a rubber stamp. Senators will join up or be phased out like the losers who'll get booted in the mid-terms. Taken to a radical extreme, elections may look more dictatorial where Trump wins reelection with a 99.9% landslide or just phased out all together. This is an exaggeration, but could it actually happen? Trump does like authoritarians and his base will follow him no matter what.
- Goodbye recreational and medicinal MJ. Expect to see prices for shardz and everything else go up as increased law enforcement, police state actions, and jailings affect supply and demand. It will however be good years for pirates and other black marketeers. Could be more dangerous to grow or otherwise be involved in the game, but they'll be happy to see per lb. prices rise back to pre-MMJ and recreational levels.
- America gets the Government it deserves.
- No taco trucks on every corner.

On a political level Trump's presidency will probably be comparable to W.
A political lightweight with no real desire to govern will be reduced to a laughable mascot for the US who continually bumbles through speeches and embarrasses the country internationally.
It's the social ugliness that could result will be the real fallout.

Am I mistaken or hasn't rage posted for a long time that he has no interest at all in politics? Is he a prime example of the silent Trump majority that the pollsters missed?
side note: I heard a pundit from the Philly area describe them as "leaners." Some guy who ran a sandwhich shop said when he'd ask his customers who they'd be voting for, they'd lean in and almost whisper "Trump," so as not to be heard. Lot of shame. Lot of secrecy. These are your neighbors and fellow 'mericans.
