That list of 100 days is meaningless and Republicans have already stated they won't go along with many items on the list so just like every other Trump "promise" we literally have no idea what his presidency is going to look like.

You can tell a lot about a person by whether in times like these they focus solely on what this means to them personally, or by whether they focus more on what this means to others as well and society at large.

Just got back from being out in public for the first time since the results. The lady who runs the bodega around the corner asked about the election and wondered how Americans could vote for a clown. In the first cab I took the driver asked where I was from and when I told him the truth he had the same basic question. Later on when I took a cab coming back, same thing. This time I reverted to the old tried and true answer that has gotten many Americans abroad through awkward situations. "I'm from Canada, eh, couldn't tell ya."

with all the emotional blathering that is going on right now, sitting still and really thinking about how this really affects them is exactly what people need to do.

No need to take offense, poo, since I didn't say anything other than a very vague "you can tell a lot about a person..." You're the one who put a judgement on the statement, not me.

It would be pretty amazing if Trump actually backed out of those trade deals without negotiating something new first, he'd basically start a massive trade war and plunge the US, Mexico and China into recessions. It doesn't surprise me that he wants to label china as currency manipulators though, he owes The Bank of China hundreds of millions in loans he took out for one of his NYC buildings, i'm sure he's angling to get out of that somehow.

Do we ever elect a non clown (assuming by clown they meant complete retard)?

No one knows for sure how this is going to affect them since he hasn't actually done anything yet. Trump's been vague, saying 'don't worry, I'll fix it' no matter what the issue. 'ISIS? Don't worry. I'll take care of it. I'm the only one who can fix the problem.' 'The wall? We'll build it and have other people pay for it, don't you worry.' His lack of details or even a general plan doesn't instill confidence in me that he'll be able to do what he says he will.
His promises look to be as valid as the promises of any other politician. He says he will do so much just on the first day, yet it wouldn't be possible to do all of what he says he will. For a so-called political outsider he sounds a lot like a typical politician. Promises, promises, vote for me, promises....

Do we ever elect a non clown (assuming by clown they meant complete retard)? The people here like Obama. Most aren't quite fully aware of everything that he does, but they like that compared to Bush he comes across as calm, cool, and collected as opposed to a buffoon. Most aren't really judging US President's on the minutia of their policies, but more by an overall impression as being the primary face of the US. A lot of people weren't aware of how shitty a candidate/person Hilary was until I pointed it out to them in detail - they just saw Trump the payaso and how Hilary looked more Presidential in comparison. Once explained, they fully understood due to having their own experiences with politicians and knowledge that "they're all corrupt."

I'd take a wait and see attitude on that. That wall and deportation force are going to be costly. Considering the Mexicans are laughing at the idea of paying a single Peso, Trump's going to have to borrow from China, or raise taxes to pay for his expensive, Big Government programs. Based on his proven history of lying, I wouldn't take Trump at his word on anything right now.

I don't believe in rounding up and deporting illegal immigrants but I'll be super excited and pretty pumped if Trump actually does decide to take on the industrial agriculture industry.

I like how Lakai is able to make his point using details, specifics, and examples as opposed to "Trump said he's going to...." and just taking him at his word and thinking that not only will Trump deliver, but there will be no price to pay, residual or otherwise.

it's funny that you're embarrassed to say you're American. Travel/live abroad for as much as I have as opposed to making weekend trips down to Baja with your American buddies and you'd understand. It's not something I usually do, since most people here and many of the other countries I've spent time in like Americans and even if they don't like the US government are able to differentiate between the government and it's citizens. You're also making the false assumption that I'm embarrassed. Sometimes it's just easier to tell a white lie to get out of a conversation you don't really feel like having in the moment. Kind of like telling a girl that her jeans don't make her look fat, even if they do, because you don't want to have that conversation.
