Fungus, cactus, and hippopotamus, for example, have Latin roots which we add an i to the end for pluralization. Octopus, however, has a Greek root and therefore is typically done as octopuses for the plural form to correlate to the Greek plural octopodes.

Last time I checked a coney dog was chili, mustard, onions. No cheese. Then again, I've never heard of a 'michigan dog'... False. A chili dog has chili on it. A coney dog has coney sauce on it. Around here you have the option of cheese on both. Coney dogs don't have chili on them... Coney dog > Chili dog

And coney sauce when done well isn't really a sauce. It is more the consistency of taco meat made of ground beef.
Chili dogs and coney dogs are both, however, sandwiches...

Could you elaborate on the difference between chili and coney sauce?

I mean... I can call a hamburger a hot dog, but it's still going to be a hamburger.
Perhaps that is not chili on the dogs you pictured?

This isn’t a subjective matter.
The parameters are set to what it is, and is not.

a Norfolk Dog is a (recently discontinued) Hormel natural casing on a standard hot dog bun with chili, mustard, and onions.

This isn’t a subjective matter. The parameters are set to what it is, and is not. I will continue to argue that the dogs you posted don't have chili on them. It is coney sauce. Otherwise they would be chili dogs. Facts are, in fact, facts.
