So... last week I sent the ex a nice text about getting the stuff out before Delfest. She was cool about it. But I know her well and knew she would let this thing drag out. So, I sent another one a couple nights ago explaining my position. I told her that the while I appreciate that we can still be friends, the level of usually daily communication wasn't healthy and we needed to create some space. I probably said way more that I needed to, but I had to get it out there. I feel like I've lost a really good friend now. But my dreams are fucking with my head lately and this seemed like the direction I should take.

Hoosier, sometimes the best solution is to cut off all contact. I know it sucks, but if she's affecting you a lot still it might be for the best...
Then after a window of time passes maybe friendship is a real option.
