So I'm friends with this Christian guy on FB, and he's been pushing this flat earth thing. I thought it was just him, but when I went on Nasa's feed there are tons of people saying Nasa is BS, the Earth is flat, yada yada yada.. People claim nasa doesn't have any actual pictures of Earth from space, and they are all photoshopped... Is this really a thing? Has anyone else noticed this internet trend? If U live where the land is terribly flat like in southern IL or NE or KS& have never been up in a plane or anywhere else like a mountain top like that where U can actually see the curve of the earth ("I wanna ride down over Mulholland, I wanna write Her name in the sky, gonna free fall out into nothin.....") Then its hard to imagine the Earth being a ball. If U live where its flat enuf, have never been over 1000 feet up& r very simple minded, its possible to see how 1 could doubt the Earth being a ball The plains Indians, all tribes, could see the curvature of Earth even w out an airplane ride, that's why their mythologies say all about We r in the center of the great circle/turtle's back, their teepees were based on cone design, the medicine wheel is a wheel, etc Wow why r U wasting your time exchanging thoughts w a person who is less thoughtful than people who lived a stone age style life 500 yrs ago? Sounds like a tremendous waste of time to me.......

Best to stick to keeping it funny when discussing it w/them...Such as the example below. It exposes their 'reasoning' as well.

They usex to teach the shadow was causef by earth butnow i believe they are yeaching its the way sun hits it or some shit im dumb but look it up....

No vybl they changed they way its been taught Is this at all related to that whole, 'sorry, Pluto's not a planet anymore' thing? I still have problems accepting that. Truth be told, I was a little pissed when I first heard.

Pluto is a planet. I'm not just going to unlearn that.

Sometimes science just goes too far, though I'm not sure I'd trade making Pluto a planet again if it meant acceptance of a flat earth. A man's got his limits.

Do 'flatties' not believe in space? Do they think the moon is flat? Some science can be debated... i think we (we meaning logical humans) have moved past the flat earth debaye and went for greater science. The flat earth debate was basically debunked over a hundred years ago it's crazy the debaters have last more than 2 generations. And lastly i would say and 'flattie' is just a cry for attention Haven't really paid enough attention to know their little answers for their bs. There was much gnashing of teeth in getting answer out the dude, but he is just a questioner (lol.)...I don't think anybody is willing to stand up and say the are a Flat Earther...which is a good thing...There are those though that question whether we went to the moon. Graphic references what they have to believe about the sun...which obviously conflicts with the fact that we have seasons Plus if the earth is a plane, then the sun it that position would illuminate the whole surface. That model requires some curvature to make sense. Plus that model doesn't allow for a solar or lunar eclipse? I'm sure I've already given the concept too much of my time.

Agree with hoosier. At this point in the capability of science, any time is really too much time to devote to this. Thing is, no matter what science shows, no matter anything, flat earthers are always going to believe. They're like hard-core religious people, and apparently there's an overlap between the two groups.
