Unfortunately the word organic is broken. It used to describe a nitch of farmers trying to do something right. Now it is a word used to market stuff. Rarely does it mean anything. When large companies wanted to compete with the growing demand for "organic" the simply adjusted the wording to make what they were already selling sound healthy. The trick to buying and shopping organically is to avoid anything packaged. Buy the least altered, closest to living option.

If you're talking about ocean spray or any 'juice' that has a ridiculously long shelf life, you're really only drinking pasteurized *dead* juice from a concentrate that has been artificially flavored with 'natural' flavors. It is basically glorified sugar water. The stuff is closer to soda than actual juice.

I have this book. It is like 800 pages and SUPER intimidating. But, I hold the intention to begin making the effort on educated myself with this type of food and integrating some of it into my lifestyle and hopefully that becomes more prominent over time. The main issue is there is no where to buy this cuisine anywhere around here so it would be up to me to make all off it and I have zero people in my life who are interested in this, so I'm trail blazing solo. www.goodreads.com/book/show/171662.Conscious_Eating

Look for the word 'pasteurized' on the bottle. If it says that, I recommend reconsidering finding something else because the pasteurization process, which is a flash boiling of the product as it is being bottled, kills all the enzymes and nutrients in the process in exchange for an extended shelf life.
