I don't think i'd ever invest in it because of how wildly it can fluctuate but i've used to buy stuff in the past

i have no interest in investing in crypto currency that for the same reason. wild fluctuations
never used it but have benefited greatly from those that have

Regular markets fluctuate as well. Or do the crypto markets fluctuate more drastically in a shorter period?

the crypto have definitely been having greater percent fluctuations.
the regular currency markets will be kept inline by arbitrage,, tighten up the inter market pricing discrepancies ect
the currency market can trade trillions in a day

But what do I know. Even the "analysts" admit they have know idea how this will play out or why this is even such a big deal. At this point it is no longer currency, more like psuedo gold.

Wouldn't the trick be for a guy like McAfee to sing it's praises, have everyone buy in... and not to assume insider trading, but, then watch Silicon Valley insiders like him sell off at the high point just before it bursts? |

i was just going to bump this thread...
i was reading today that in february amazon is expected to announce they'll accept bitcoin for payment, which will boost the entire market and all the small cryptocurrenices as well. also in the same article they mentioned that essentially with this bitcoin explosion the last month and a half that its actually more valuable than gold (forget the exact metrics of how they were compared) currently if you own shares of bitcoin itself. crazy to think about.
thinking of starting a smorgasbord of the smaller currencies for a few bucks each here and there, you know hedge the investment incase some of them tank, and then sit back and watch what happens.

Every $250 coin from last january is worth $12000 today. I have a friend that was sitting on several thousand and he cant seem to stop smiling. Jealous I am not. Kicking myself for not taking his advice last year. Yup, a few times.
Will be interesting. I have read some people expect it to exceed 100k.
