So i need some career advice/opinions from y'all... So I was offered a job today with the condition that I have to let them know by end of day tomorrow and start Monday. I desperately need work right now, been unemployed for a bit and things are getting decidedly tight so I'm almost certainly going to accept it. Thing is, it's not a great job, it's only a 22 month commitment, it's not in my field, the pay isn't great and it's not easy, these things don't really matter though because I need a job. Thing is though, and here is what I need advice on, I interviewed for a really great position last week, I think it went really well but the hiring manager is out of the office until the 16th so I won't until then. Also, an old friend who works in my field just hit me up out of the blue today asking where/if I was working and told me to send him my resume. So if i accept this first job, how bad is it if I quit almost right away, I feel like I would really be leaving them in the lurch. -It's not the best thing to do in most cases, but I think you laid out the facts well. 1. It's not a great job 2. It's a 22 month committment 3. It's not in your field 4. The pay isn't great I wouldn't feel bad about accepting knowing you may be putting in your two weeks' notice shortly after. I accepted a job back in 2005 right after college and I had interviewed for that job and with the company I currently work for on back to back days. After I had been at work for 3 weeks, my current company called and offered me a position. It was a better job with better pay and I didn't think twice about putting in my notice. My manager at the old job was pissed, but I'm sure she got over it. Business is business Take the job, you get something better in your field, bounce Ask yourself this....if the place you're thinking about going to work for were to hire you Monday, be made an offer to be purchased Tuesday, on the condition of complete turn over for new companies reps to come in and take over ....would they take the deal and lay you off or would they not? More often than not company gonna take the money and tell you to leave It's business , don't let people say it's a bad thing, if other professuonal opportunities arises it's a bad thing to not pursue those if you are fully able too |

I don't feel sorry for anyone whose personal life dynamics mimic jambase dynamics. For example, I've neve met Senater idrive, but if his personal life dynamic is at all like his jambase dynamic I'd love to meet up and hang out with him. Same goes for the overwhelming majority on here. I think their jambase dynamics are just fine. There're a few people who either admit that their personal dynamic is completely different than their jambase dynamic, or like potato, others say the jambase dynamic is really just an act and they are different if you get to know their personal dynamic. We're all entitled to maintaining different personalities when it come to online/"real life" but I appreciate people who maintain a certain consistency. But that's just me. I'm not saying there's a right or wrong, just saying that I believe most people's jambase dynamics are just fine and I'd be happy if when I met them their personal life dynamics were the same. I finally got my wind turbine up the other day but there wasn't a strong wind until today. Its spinning nicely now and cranking out some serious juice. So I am happy today. that is awesome! is it enough to basically keep you off the grid? |

He just feels things very deeply and has no filter. agreed on that......i love naylor!! im speaking of the general board dynamics. i say something.. swifty/freedum immediately has to counter it and lessen it regardless of if he agrees or disagrees with me. i would hope swifty doesnt talk to everybody in long winded speeches telling you how you are wrong and not up to his standard.. maybe Swifty talks to everyone like he talks to me.. feel sorry for his family/friends if thats the case conflict is a big dynamic on this board.. no denying that.. and as i said i feel sorry for anyone whose personal life is filled with so much conflict.. mine isnt.. i lead chill life with good friends whose goals in life are not to tear me down and lessen who i am. and as far as dynamics.. things build on things build on things ect. your individual relationship with a specific baser will change over time.. walls get built. freedom/swifty would never admit im right on anything even if i am.. thats a shitty dynamic Idk why my name has to be mentioned here. I road maybe 7 or 8 kilometers tonight but I wasn't measuring unless the iPhone is keeping track of that and I don't know it, but I can tell you I listened to the new Killers album Wonderful Wonderful and it is quite wonderful and I really enjoyed my bike ride tonight. I also gave up a major addiction two days ago at Ladyrice respectful request and I feel very uplifted to get it out of my life, one day at a time. It's The News. She asked I stop watching it. I agreed and I feel better already. The news is 100% banned in my house. Its the worst show on television. Boycott The News! I'll get my news from you all here in the WAYTRN's. |

So, I am supposed to do the Cleveland Witches Ride on Sunday. We all meet downtown and bike about 5-6 miles (slowww pace) in witches costumes. We had like 200 riders last year! I didn't wear a helmet last year (since downtown is empty on Sunday and we are visible as fuck) and the lady who organizes it got her panties in a wad about it. So this year she made all sorts of posts about people without helmets not being welcomed. It really does ruin the costume to attach a helmet to.a hat, but whatever. that sounds cool as fuck! |

Lakai, it is never about them, it is all about you and doing what is right for you. Take the day job and work the shit out of that shit until your night gig is rocking n rolling. You said it yourself, you desperately need a job, and you have until tomorrow to accept the one that starts on Monday. You know the answer. Make that money hustler! |
