This is a bit random but I have a friend who is a physicist that has been working on the properties graphene for a couple of years and has finally had a minor breakthrough. This is his attempt to explain it in layman's terms. - Of this one I am especially proud. It is the result of more than two years of work. We have found direct numerical evidence of an instability of the van Hove singularity of graphene towards formation of electronic ordered phases. I guess the hyped up thing to say would be that this is evidence that we maybe can turn graphene into a high temperature superconductor Of course that might be over-selling it just a tiny bit Very short summary: If you create a massive over-supply of positive or negative charge in a graphene sheet eventually lots of interesting stuff happens Electrons develop a tendency for collective behavior that can manifest itself in different ways. Useful for humanity, maybe not immediately, but understanding how exactly this happens certainly is. The important point here is that one cannot describe this by assuming that the electrons only feel the effect of the lattice of carbon atoms. One has to also take into account that they interact with each other. arxiv.org/abs/1704.03757I tried reading some of the stuff in that link but it is pointless unless you can understand this: We report on Hybrid-Monte-Carlo simulations at finite spin density of the π -band electrons in monolayer graphene with realistic inter-electron interactions. Unlike simulations at finite charge-carrier density, these are not affected by a fermion-sign problem. Our results are in qualitative agreement with an interaction-induced warping of the Fermi contours, and a reduction of the bandwidth as observed in angle resolved photoemission spectroscopy experiments on charge-doped graphene systems. Furthermore, we find evidence that the neck-disrupting Lifshitz transition, which occurs when the Fermi level traverses the van Hove singularity (VHS), becomes a true quantum phase transition due to interactions. This is in-line with an instability of the VHS towards the formation of electronic ordered phases, which has been predicted by a variety of different theoretical approaches.

Have we considered that our jambase reality is a computer simulation that special Ed teacher Vibyl is using to teach a 14 year old Lolpotato how to interact in adult society.
The matrix is staring in on itself Bros.

I'd listen to that, but the sound of Sam Harris voice makes me instinctively want to cut my dick off. It's almost pavlovian

In fact I think we need to conduct some research into the idea that the tonality and sound vibrations in the vocal cords of smarmy pseudointellectuals like Harris and Jordan Peterson are responsible for psychologically castrating us and are in fact the unwittingly cause for the plague of regressive left transsexuals roaming the streets and harrassing our brave purveyors of truth
