imo it does not seem like they care for doing the big tours anymore. Seems like they wanna do the big stops that make them enough money for the year and focus on their solo projects. I mean didn't Trey just announce a huge spring tour? Mike has his own band and Fishman (judging by hist 24/7 facebook posting) seems to want to be more involved in politics. Not trying to troll (but i'm sure i'll get some backlash) it just seems like they don't really care about the full on tours, just the money pit stops...but I could be wrong. 17 shows at one venue says otherwise though It's been a solid 9 years. It's okay to slow down. Getting older is a bitch.

alpine is getting somebody big.
i dont think live nation would sink money into it and reopen it without that being the plan.
2 phish shows would hit the spot. dont think we are doing to much concert wise this year so that would really hit the spot.

Page is enjoying fatherhood.
Trey is an empty nester, so clearly he is eager to do stuff, but it takes four to Phango.

Also they had a stipulation when they agreed to come back in 09 to not do more than 50 shows a year, and they have stuck to it.
No more than 50 shows, no discussing the shows. Thems the agreed upon rules.

Just listened to the DWD from the 30th.
That was my most far gone whirl of the weekend, now I see why.
Top notch 3.0 Jam right there. A+

Makes sense...as they all get on their own tour buses and get the fuck out of dodge as soon as the show is over...saw them leave all three nights at SPAC two summers ago.

Trey is playing 9 solo acoustic shows next month and currently has 8 TAB shows scheduled in April, not really huge and don't think that impacts the summer in any way.

They made that rule in 1997 or so. I guess they would spend setbreak critiquing one another and it wound up getting them too much in their heads for the 2nd Set. So since then, they’ve had a no discussion on how you felt the show was good or bad.

Also I think the Mann in Philly might be in there somewhere, maybe between MPP and the fest.

If they do Tahoe I'm going to try and get out there to see a buddy and go on a fishing trip. Going to do Chicagoland shows and Watkins. Dates won't be official until at least March right?

I do remember the story of Trey playing the Fall '97 Denver 'Ghost' for the band and saying how this is what they should be going for, or something along those lines.
