They're probably not going away.
Traditional action movies barely get made anymore and the few studios that are left making less expensive movies aren't getting big influxes of money.
The movie going audiences only want nostalgia these days. We're a Memba Berries country.

I grew up on the Batman TV series. Been told my first word (other than mama/dada) was Batman. My mom used to hum the theme song and when it got to the part I'd yell out "Batman!" For a time I thought the '66 movie was the height of cinema. It was like the entire MCU all wrapped into one - cuz there weren't nothin' else. Eventually I discovered the Spider Man, which was pretty cool, an the Marvel Superhero cartoons. But Batman was the best.

I wonder if the younger generation will start feeling all nostalgic for that time when cable went mainstream (Playboy Channel) and porn met VHS so they could watch the stash they found hidden when their parents were out. Imagine if after the Superhero genre plays itself out they start making pornos with $100-200 Million budgets that start bringing in over a Billion at the box-office, cast with not only mainstream actors, but big Hollywood stars. |

I wouldn't be surprised if 30 years from now all these MCU movies get remade but I don't believe the craze will ever be the same. Just like Star wars, LOTR, Harry Potter, etc you will have your niche audience who love everything Marvel does and will spend all of their hard earned (or parents hard earned) cash on everything Marvel, but I believe the mainstream popularity will continue to fade more and more and more as the market will become oversaturated with the same cookie cutter superhero movies until eventually most of the general public stops caring and they turn to a different franchise or there is another genre resurgence. I mean I loved the original 3 Star Wars Movies. The prequals were ok and these last 3 were kind of shitty. Now the market is oversaturated with all of these shows and movies and games, I have literally 0 interest in watching it as I feel they are just trying to jump the shark at this point. Marvel and DC will experience the same thing soon enough, if they already havent |

I'm in on an X-men reboot. I like the other ones just fine but I'll take as much of it as I can get. That was my jam when I was into collecting comic books

I'd really like to see more shows/ movies like the j Jones, daredevil type shows they did on Netflix. Disneyfying the shows was a bad move for marvel. I really don't want to watch action /comedy superheroe movies. I have always enjoyed the more violent side of comic books.

Yeah Punisher is my favorite out of all those but I loved Daredevil and Jessica Jones. John Bernthal made a life long fan out of me with his performance in punisher! Absolutely incredible! |

Daredevil and JJ were good. The others, not so much. Luke Cage and iron fist were blah and the defenders was the worst.

I was watching all those Netflix MCU shows in order and JJ Season 2 made me nearly quit and a few episodes of the next season of Luke Cage after that finished me off. I couldn’t take another second of that white rapper like dude that was more and more the focus of the show. I do need to just skip those, though, and likely Iron Fist S2 and watch Daredevil and The Punisher’s final seasons. I have read JJ Season 3 was worse than 2, which is an achievement.

It's definitely less of a typical comic book style so I guess I can see how that would disappoint some people with mcu expectations. I just like the show. I'm finding myself looking forward to watching each next episode.
