Why are priests such perverts? Most religion is pretty f#cked up anyway. My wife has been waiting on an annulment and she keeps getting mail from the archdiocese of Cincinnati, getting her all excited, and then.... they just want money. lol.

There's been some revelations by the Buffalo Diocese of the RC Church in the past week about priests that have been accused of being pedophiles...A new report says that the priest that married Legs and I has been accused. The clergy at our local church had some mostly thoughtful things to say on Sunday before Mass, but they pissed me off when they tried to convince everyone that it's not the church that should be blamed but the individual priests... Sure, I blame the priests, but the church also routinely moved these guys around anytime allegations surfaced, paid for silence from victims and just generally KNEW about this shit... Motherfuckers. I may stay away from church for a while...I've never identified with the institution so much as it's been a place for me to get close to God... I'm sure this is going to spark a big debate, and that's fine. Gran dad used to get close to God in his shed Listen to sermon on radio , then about an hour later crack a beer If God is everywhere, a church should not be needed to bring you closer |

I think a lot of these dudes have creepy thoughts at a young and they feel bad and want to pray it away so they become priests... and the creepy thoughts prevail.
Obviously this shit had been going on for centuries.. it didn't "just start."
And how in God's name is some dude going to advise me on how best to be a husband and raise my kids when he is forbidden from being a husband and having kids? It's completely absurd and ridiculous...
I like being spiritual, not religious. Ive learned there's a big difference.

maybe if the catholic church would let their priests and nuns marry people it would cut down on this.
so archaic. ill be happy in 20-30 years when teenagers today are running things and religion is a thing in history books instead of permeating our culture.

I say it all the time that I never feel closer to God than when I'm in my tree stand...looking around, seeing all that He created. In some ways, the priesthood has served as a haven for those that prey on children...same as schools, Boy Scouts, etc. But also, I think there are people out there that were raised Catholic and have deviant sexual thoughts. The Catholic guilt they feel about having these thoughts pushes them towards priesthood...where they think they'll be able to repress those thoughts...then years of celibacy fucks them up worse. |

Yeshua (his name was changed to Jesus) didn't come to start a religion. Ironically, religion keeps people away from reading his teachings.
The Vatican is an abomination, and Catholicism obviously stems from that. That's not to say that there aren't many good Catholics. There are many good people that practice every faith really...
And Wally, I think you greatly underestimate the east. Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, and Christianity isn't just going to disappear like that.
