Well, we had snow on the ground yesterday morning. This morning I get woke up to thunder at like 4. The radar looks like it could storm all day. They are forecasting snow for tonight.

Tried to take family to the aquarium yesterday. Car decided to take a shit on the way. Mechanic says timing unraveled. Apparently my engine sucks to work on and the cheapest replacement I found so far is $2700. Well fuck. Looks like I might be car shopping.

I was planning on shopping for a van or extended cab pickup in a few months as a second vehicle. The one that died is a chrysler pacifica.
Right now Im calling other mechanics and checking craigslist for something. Whatever it is it has to seat 6.
Seems about right. I have been saving money for a few months with no major setbacks.

I just want to get out in the woods and poke around for some morels. I have syringe full of black morel spores. Gonna mix with 50 gallons of water, some wood ash and molassas. Try to inoculate every shady spot in my yard. I also have shiitake logs going. So yummy. |

It's less of an SUV and more of a crossover...but it gets 20+ MPG on the highway. Will still tow 4,500 lbs too. It's not as cool as the Honda Pilot we had before it, but it's much less rusty! |

It's easy to find on birch. Not always a lot tho, and I rarely touch it if ever as it's temperamental if not endangered..
The good stuff comes from the Canadian Shield and northern latitudes, but that result has led to crazy over harvesting practices obviously. Same as ginseng..
My ethic is kinda hands off with that stuff. May be good for you, but an ecological concern kinda trumps taking a good shit in the morning
