there a 3-4 ski "hills" in the area, that all have approximately 10-20 runs. the closest "resort" is up by duluth at lutsen. nice area on the north shore of lake superior.

The last year we lived in IL there was a polar vortex that lasted for like three weeks. The first week everything closed early and opened late. After that it was like, well everyone survived the first one, get over it. We also had snow almost to our second story window from the plows. Couple that with getting canned from Whole Foods and we were out.

Wind is blowing crazy hard right now, constant, irritating back ground noise.

So which is worse, polar vortex or hurricanes/Florida man? You can’t escape a polar vortex unless you time a vacation just right. And it’s miserable for months. I hate the people here but I also hate cold. |

the other day it was 0 and the wind was 40 mph. its just not a NH winter if the wind isn't whipping across your face giving you face burn.

Makes sense. Stupid people everywhere too. My buddy used to tell me all these crazy stories about the locals when he lived in Northern California. He'd always say people don't think California has rednecks but it does!

I was outside earlier and ran into a woman I know, we talked a bit but she is
a
really slow
talker.
I was getting really cold because I only planned on being outside of the car for a minute. When I got back to the car I thought my ears were going to snap off when I took my mask off.
Wind chill was -2.
Putting on flannel lined pants now, and putting on a stocking cap..... inside.
