First the full eclipse, now this. I really am starting to feel like those of us in the Southern Hemisphere are getting #rippedoff.

I got lots of nothing last night. We did have some light clouding but you could still see a lot of stars, so I assume I would've seen the auroras if they were there. I went out a bunch of times, then I fell asleep for a couple hours, and I woke up at like 4:30 which is past good viewing time. I better not have missed anything when I was sleeping!
So did anyone else get anything?
Btw, those are some awesome pics on the last page... seeing that in person must've been magical. I am so jealous!

It was super cool to see. I will admit though that the pictures look better than what you could actually see... Camera phones gather more light than a human eye or something

Camera phones gather more light than a human eye or something Yeah, that reminds me of two things: 1. The Machine guys always made it a point to wear plain black t-shirts on stage, for whatever reason, I think maybe to blend into the background and not draw attention away from the music, or something. Well, apparently Joe (RIP) would sometimes just take whatever black printed t-shirt he had on and turn it inside out and nobody knew the difference. I only know this because I remember pics of him taken with digital cameras and smartphones where you can see a backwards Machine logo shining through his black t-shirt, which had not been at all visible with the naked eye. 2. A family member once took a smartphone pic of a gecko (I think that's what it was) sitting on a remote control, and you could actually see the buttons through its skin, whereas you couldn't with the naked eye.

Supposed to be more aurora activity tonight and tomorrow. When I was doing fieldwork, I lived on a lake in northern MI with N facing views and got to see some spectacular shows. Now I live in a neighborhood in a city with no such view and we are in a solar maximum. If I hear reports, I'm going to drive around looking for a viewing spot. Tired of missing these.
