Im working remotely, 600+ miles away, lol.
I hate teleworking. Going from a desk with all sorts of resources, 2 giant monitors, seamless internet and server access and an office full of folks to share questions and ideas with; to me, a tiny laptop and patchy, slow internet and server access sucks. I am grateful for the option. If sometime over the next week or two it looks like the risk of a real travel shut down diminishes or if things stabilize a bit Ill probably head back south and mostly telework close by with limited field and office days when needed, confident I can head back north when I need to. I don't know what to expect for now. Some folks are still going to the office. I anticipated the office to close altogether. Gonna take it week by week.

i'm able to work remotely, but 99% of our employees can't, and i pretty much have to be in the office if our employees are in-office.
...looks like the senate is building upon the bill that passed the house on friday for worker relief. senate says they are adding language to it to hopefully help out employers as well as employees.

Last night was a clusterfuck at the Lima airport where people had till midnight to get on a plane. After that - stuck in Lima for 15 days. People taking the last two flights out for Arequipa got stuck because it got really foggy last night and they delayed, and ultimately canceled, the flights. Not sure if they made, or are going to make, an exception and will let the flights depart today. Also first day here with full lockdown. No leaving the house except for groceries and pharmacy - under penalty of jail. hide yo kids, hide yo wipes ....jail? that's wild. That's the word, but at this point, who can say? There's a healthy disregard for rules in this culture and people need to eat/work. If the place you work at is shut down, you gotta do something else. I have no idea how this is going to effect the poor who typically hustly candy on the street. Jail seems harsh. Putting more people together (people who wouldn't be considered criminals) in a confined space (and mixed in with hardened criminals?) when the goal is social distancing seems counter intuitive. I'm staying put until I see something on the news that suggests I can at least go out for a walk without worries.

My wife works from home full time, her company has been in the process of forcing everyone back into the office, after years of encouraging work from home. Some people forced to work from empty offices and buildings that are not kept up, she had a coworker who had to deal with a homeless guy that had moved into the common area of a building.
Fortunately for us, we are no where near a physical location, and the one closest possibility would be a conflict of interest because it’s in a different business unit.
....now......
That policy is being rethought.
I got that new job, it was only temporary, with the school district thru the end of the year. Hopefully would lead to a spot next year.
........It was a good two weeks. ::shrugs::

I guess the Red Cross is really hurting for blood donations since so many drives have been cancelled. I'm not thrilled with the idea of a "medical procedure" right now...but I do want to donate.

I've only donated once but the nurses were super professional and they have lots of cleanliness procedures in place already. I was considering donating again soon.

I'm already annoyed at some agency coordination. Just recieved a permit for a project that was cleared out 2 years ago when we received the permit initially. It says we submitted the application February this year...um, no. Wtf is going in with these yayhoos?!...

Mandatory stay at home quarantine + cloudy weather + water heated by solar panel = not bothering with showers
