The religion was founded in the 1400's.
The Arab world was at the forefront of modernity until the creation of Islam.

you can believe what you want but the is a large population of Muslims in Turkey trying to push the country more and more down the path of becoming an Islamic state. You can believe what you want but the population of bat shit crazy, racist,right wing Christians are trying to push the country more and more down the path of being a fundamental Christian state. The thing that's interesting about Turkey is that years back they set up all their military schools as secular institutions so all their generals are ingrained with secular ideology. They have many times in the past flexed their muscle when Gov't leaders have pushed the limits of their constitution.

Christianity has by and large stopped murdering people who refuse to be christian because the governing bodies such as the vatican decreed to stop and we have separation of church and state; however, Islam has not had a reformation and since there are no central governing bodies and no actual priests just different levels of Scholarship, there is no one to tell them to stop. |
