I started this thread at our old home, but didn't get much info.
Hubby & I are planning on driving to Detroit so I can test drive a Shinola bike. The Shinola store is in Midtown. Where should we stay, what should do, where is the good food? I need some recommendations!
PS- I am trying out the Bixby & the Runwell.

Sorry I can't help with any Detroit recommendations, but those bikes look really cool. The Runwell with its extra gears sound more versatile, but I like the style and description of both.

Yeah, the Runwell is a bit more versatile, BUT I live in Cleveland where it is relatively flat so I think I can do a lot with 3 gears. I might just save some money with the Bixby since I already have a Raleigh hybrid.

For sure!
Also, this spring I am going to purchase a used touring bike for something more lightweight. But I will only drop $150 or so on that. My Shinola will be my sex-on-wheels bike for errands and group rides.

I'd just stay at a casino down town. That will be nice and close. There are some good bars in mid town

One of my favorites from RoboCop is when Clarence Boddicker crashes the OCP executive's coke and hookers party and he shouts "Bitches leave". Classic Red!

Depending on when you are in the D you should check out a techno show. The D has the best Techno around .

GO catch a ball game at Comerica or if you have any Hockey sense you'd check out Hockey town to watch a game and Greek Town is where its at. Then hit the people mover after you check the lay out of the city.

Zee, my husband would love the hockey thing. He played for 8 years (4 high school, 4 college).
No more techno for me... I am getting too old for all that and Mike will definitely pass.
BBQ would be good!

CHeck out cork town if you can. It has that BBQ place some cool cocktail bars and a place that distills their own booze.
