Troegs nugget nectar used to be my special winter seasonal, hopslam too if I could get some. Now that there are all these good local breweries around I kinda forget about the old school goodness.

I'm kind of wanting to sign up tonight, but I got shit to do that will suffer if I drink too much while doing it and I got help my brother in law move a bunch of dentist equipment out of his office in the morning, so I'm gonna have to take a rain check.

Hopslam has been in both Binnys and Schnucks and Ive passed so far. Im sticking around a couple extra days so maybe Ill grab a six pack before I head back south. Used to love that stuff. Im sure I still would just not as excited. I am excited about this 9.5% Belgian saison I grabbed but I am waiting to drink it with my beer nerd friend down south so she can tell me what Im tasting, lol. She talks about beer like a chemist, its interesting but all over my head.

Hopslam was the first special release beer I got my hands on. Probably 2011 bells happen to ship to AZ where I lived.
I asked the liquor store guy if he was getting it and yup 4 sixers and he set 1 aside for me.
Honestly not sure if I've had it since

Honestly not sure if I've had it since my first hopslam was also in AZ. apparently Larry bell is a big cubs fan and goes to a lot spring training games. he wanted to be able to drink his beer when visiting AZ. |

I saw that too. I’ve also seen them on shelves, which is funny, since you had to reserve it around here only 6 years ago or so. I used to drive to Allentown to this huge distributor to get it. It was one case per person, until they ran out. I used to bring two separate jackets and hats, buy one on the card, do the Superman in the car, and go back in to buy one with cash. I would return home a hero, because all my friends got a six pack.
Now, like Dan said, there are so many local options that no one really cares about hopslam. I can get Tired Hands at stores in NJ now.
Also, and I am 100% serious about this. I am getting drunk tonight.
