I am thankful I had a decent chunk of change stashed for the shitfan and very happy I have yet to miss any mortgage payments or any other important bills. I am looking forward to rejoining the workforce and paying taxes and all that good stuff. Congrats on the new job man. I know it's been a constant source of irritation for you so I'm so happy to hear that stress load has been lessened. Keep up the good work. Dr Rice. My sis didn’t get second stimulus but got her first. My parents didn’t get their firsts or seconds because I claimed them as dependents in 2019. I did not claim them in 2020. I got my first and second stimulus and so did Ladyrice and Riceboy but I am not planning on getting the next one but she and the boy ought too. I was laid off a year ago and didn’t get a severance but I had 270 vacation hours on the books so they paid that out on my final check and in January I had already received a super fat variable comp bonus. With my shitty AZ unemployment and three months salary at that other job I made just a tad over 80k in 2020 on paper. I am not complaining but that does suck a bit. I'm in camp didn't get my second stimulus check either. I did claim it as a credit on my tax return so instead of owing a K I only had to pay 400. It came with a cost though... While I was going throgh the divorce and living in the recovery house I hadn't filed a tax return for 2016,17, and 18. When the first round of stimulus (1200.00) came around... I went to the IRS website and clicked on the non filer link thing. It asked me for my routing and account numbers and a few days later I got that 1200.00 boi! Also went to turbo tax and filed my 19's. Then the second stimulus thing happened and I didn't get shit. Filed my taxes a couple of weeks ago and thought I was good.. Ah nope! I had 3 letters in my mailbox yesterday from the IRS telling me I need to file 16, 17, and 18. Oops... Wanting that 1200 last spring put me right on their radar now. I'm going to file those returns and keep trying to get straight with uncle sam. How thats going to affect me getting this 3rd stimulus check?  I have no idea.. I'll go check on the website when I get done here. Thanks for the suggestion. |

So I decided to go back to AQP for a few reasons but wanted to get in a couple of days of being able to hang out in Lima. Tried to blow last night, but like everything else travel related in my life lately, problems. My wife´s cousin who is the son of the aunt I´m staying with offered to let me crash at his place for a few days. He lives in the part of town I want to spend some time in so I figured okay. We would just have to keep everything on the downlow and qt because if his mom found out she´d flip the fuck out. But another cousin who was supposed to pick me up and drive me over couldn´t make it with time to drive back home before curfew started, so I´m all packed up and ready but once again - canceled. Probably for the best since none of us don´t ever have to worry about slipping up one day and my aunt finding out. So I´m here till Tuesday and figured the cousin who´s picking me up could stop at a supermarket before I hit the bus terminal so I can pick up some bottled water and snacks - even though my aunt tells me not to take my mask off on the bus for even a sip of water. Anyway, a few minutes of freedom, even if it´s only going into a supermarket for five fucking minutes. But no, my aunt is coming along because she has some errands to run after I get dropped off. No worries, I´ll just ask the cousin to pick me up something before picking us up, but sheesh. Take it easy, lady. Whatever, I´ll have my freedom back soon enough. Just crazy that in a bout a month here I´ve been out of the house twice, and out of the car only once, for about three minutes. The bus uses UV light in the ventilation system which is certified to (supposedly) eliminate 99% of all viruses and bacterias, has a limited amount of passengers, hasn´t even reached that limit yet, and my seat is all the way in back on the side where there are single seats so no one will be passing by me. So I´m going to try and not worry about it too much, look out the window at the coast for the first three hours and when the bus cuts inland and it starts getting dark I´ll take half a valium, chill out with a movie or some music till I pass out, and hopefully not wake up till we arrive at 6:30 in the am. Hopefully that 1% not eliminated doesn´t get me and it´s just something the legal department had marketing put in so they couldn´t be held liable for anything - as if people are ever held liable here, jajaja. ![]() |

Read something yesterday about a bipartisan effort (what dat?) in Congress to make DST permanent since there are only 4 months of the year when it´s not in use.
Here´s my one DST story. In college I had a campus job where one of my responsibilities was walking to the ohter side of a long and narrow campus to hand deliver the payroll info for the prior week - this was the 80´s. The deadline was noon, or nobody was getting paid. Late in the morning my boss keeps asking me about it and when I´m gonna go. Turns out I forgot to spring ahead and thought I had an hour more than I did. Instead of my usual slow stroll I had to take a cab and tell him to step on it. Made it with less than 5 minutes to spare. I´m sure there was heavy partying that weekend so I blame College.
