The 10 year public service is an old program and not part of bidens administration. He did improve hoe its processed. He can't do anything for school loans really. Won't is the correct word. He definitely could. I mean, most of the measures he attempted were stopped by the courts. I'm not sure what could be done legally for existing loans, other than maybe putting a cap on or otherwise limiting interest rates so that they can realistically be paid off. That said I think he or other lawmakers could make those and other changes to student loans, at least govt loans. It should probably include limits on what can be borrowed or something to limit the chance young or under informed borrowers could misuse the opportunity. Also change how at least public institutions utilize tuition or charge for services to be more practical and less exploitative of students.

The other day on NPR they were interviewing young people about the election and the general lack of enthusiasm for Biden. The big takeaway was that no one is remotely happy with this 2020 rematch. When student loans came up the respondent was aware that Biden's getting blocked out by Congress and the courts, but it didn't really matter to them. People aren't judging him on where his heart is and what he'd like to accomplish, but what he's actually been able to deliver or not deliver. Results.
Before the MI primary where people were being encouraged to vote "uncommitted" someone else being interviewed said he was well aware of the 'but Trump is far worse' for Muslims argument. He mentioned someone who's (so far) lost 80 family members in Gaza and wondered how it could be any worse for that person. Another example where people want and are judging on results, not where a candidate's heart is. Also a general mention of young people not really being motivated by the 'this is the most important election ever' and 'democracy itself is at risk' arguments. They don't like feeling they're being manipulated to vote for Biden out of fear of Trump.
I'm not arguing for/against or defending the opinions of these younger voters. Just passing along an observation.

This election is seeming even more consequential to me with my daughter due in May. I absolutely do not want to see what Trump can do to this country if given another four years, especially when I think about my child being born into a nation where she is not able to choose.
But then I think about how she isn't going to remember any of a potential Trump presidency and the political pendulum should swing back by the time she's an adult.
But then I think about all of the fucked up shit republicans are trying to do with education, and how I'd like to enroll my daughter in the public school system.
God damnit.

This right here is exactly why news outlets like tyt are so important. The 1% has absolutely zero control over them, and us by extension. Straight news, homie

Trump got involved in politics as a fuck you joke to America in 2014. It's been 10 years. Might be 15 or more. Some mini me version could come along soon.
I'm with ya AP it's hard to think of a kid right now.
Kids born in 2015 are in like 5th grade now and have had a pretty shitty first decade. They will be used to adapting to changes. Maybe they are the future we need

I saw a story about the Supreme Court and it got me realizing if Trump wins, does Thomas and Alito bow out of the Supreme Court at some point in the term (both in 70’s) and clear the way for Trump to appoint two more justices. That would give us 5 Trump appointees deciding everything for at least the next 20 years.

A good place to start is that a kindergartener is usually 5. Work up from there.
