For what it's worth, there are many anecdotes about his kindness and positive interactions in the stickied thread on PT right now. Dude knew what he wanted and that was to be in the front row so God help you if you got in between him and that, I guess. Not defending him, never met him, just my observation. He was clearly incredibly passionate about the band which I can relate to although I experience it and express it in a different way.
This moment of Phish is rare: the incredible exuberance of life and the sublime celebration that their concerts bring us is so special. He was flawed and human, as am I, and for that reason I am saddened by his passing because we are kindred in our shared experiences. (I too have been kicked out of the Portsmouth amphitheater. And others... but not at Phish there.)

So wasn't this guy like a major asshole? I remember him getting dragged on PT all the time and didn't he used to get kicked out of shows for being a pretentious pric rail rider who would talk down on others if he felt they didn't belong on or around the rail?
Not trying to be a dick and start shit here but I wonder why we mourn the loss of people who may or may not have been entitled prics or assholes. I don't like the idea of mourning to begin with, we should always be celebrating life and celebrating the life of those that are no longer with us. But, regardless, I always thought this dude was kind of a laughing stock, so i find it interesting so many are mourning his loss. I'm not saying we should all be throwing stones and metaphorically pissing on his grave, my condolences to his family, but i don't understand the mourning of someone who was kind of the black-eye of the 'Phish Phan' stereotype.
just my 2 cents, i'm sure i'll get some flack
RIP Phish Phan guy

I never met the guy and he was generally considered to be many of the things you mentioned. I would venture to say that this is more of a hey look who died thread than an Oh my God, how will we carry on without Antelope Gerg thread.

I probably should have said this isn't exactly related to this thread. I'm an avid lurker on "Phish Twitter" and some seemed to be propping the guy up.

Phish twitter much like PT is its own horrible universe. It is an absolute cesspool, but that's what makes it so entertaining. The Phish group on facebook is real bad too, i like to make an Umphrey's post on there once or twice a year that really gets people going!
