GBK2point0 How do you feel about Chris Mitchell leaving UM to join Sturgill? It's certainly bittersweet. I remember when Mitchell joined the band and I believe I was at one of his first few shows or at least first run. Before Chris it was Budney and Kevin Browning. I don't believe either of them had much training or schooling and were friends with the band. Browning eventually took over and he is basically the entire business side of team UM. Chris is a pros pro and once of the nicest dudes you'll meet. I believe he knew nothing about Umphreys and was a huge metal head, so he certainly grew to love the band and his wife absolutely adores the fans, she has gushed over the fanbase on various UM groups for the last decade always talking about how much she loves and appreciates being part and being received well by the community. Sturgill added an absolute professional to his sound mixing and it will show! Really sad to see him go but really happy for the opportunity this guy gets! Nothing but love for Chris Mitchell and his bright AF future! Rawk on! I guess the guy replacing him goes by coach...? Ties to Goose...possibly?...idk

Also Iggy’s in Nashville was just voted in the top ten restaurants in the country and it’s run by two Phish fan brothers. We ate at Iggy’s last night, cool place, good food. You are meant to share everything, three of us at dinner so we got the Arancini and Burrata appetizers, the the Lobster Risotto, Joe Frillman’s Lumache, and Rigatoni Bolognese. I saw the brothers but only talked to our waiter. Thank you very much for the recommendation!

I have been listening to Jane’s Addiction off and on for 30 years or so and only today while listening did I realize the song Ted, Just Admit It (which in my head have thought of usually as Nothings Shocking) is somewhat about Ted Bundy. The recording in the background at the beginning is from a Ted Bundy interview. Not sure how that never dawned on me until today..

I don’t know other than upon further research, that song’s title has gotten a lot of people (who clearly like me didn’t read the song titles enough) with thinking it’s Nothing’s Shocking and I put my own interpretation into what the song was referring to even when I knew it was Ted, Just Admit It. I am ashamed.

15 years ago yesterday was my phirst phish show. Got some pictures from the night on my fb memories. Solid Pic with me, Lerner and solartree that I wish I knew how to post here (not sure if they'd want me to post the Pic anyways) good times that I will vaguely remember. Solargarlic is probably the only reason I survived that night

20 years for me this past Thursday
SET 1: Rift > Julius, Bill Bailey, Won't You Please Come Home?[1], Waves, Gumbo, Water in the Sky, Horn, Poor Heart > Drowned
SET 2: Seven Below > Ghost -> Twist, You Enjoy Myself
ENCORE: Good Times Bad Times
[1] Dr. Jack McConnell on vocals and tap shoes.
During Julius, Trey broke a string on stage for the first known time since November 29, 1996. This Father’s Day version of Bill Bailey – the first since July 3, 1999 (167 shows) – featured Page’s dad, Dr. Jack McConnell, on vocals and tap shoes. Trey teased Lazy (Deep Purple) in Drowned.

Darien Lake is taking good care of May May. Guest services hooked her up with a personalized first concert lanyard. Grabbed a pretty good spot on the lawn too

Also, I'm about 23 years above the average age of people here...
One other old guy with a Metallica t shirt on obviously self conscious about seeing a boy band 😂
