It wasn't a great day to have the AC crap out. Woke up to pee at 2:30 am and the thermostat read 88. Please Jesus let them fix it today. It was a bad capacitor. Also had issues with the thermostat not sending the right voltage to the unit. $800 later he said it's up and running but eventually your pressure switch is going to fail. Quote of 2,200. He leaves at 7, it never cools a single degree, was 87 this morning, considerably warmer than it is outside (not for long). Have a call in to service manager to ask some very specific questions, starting to get pissed.

Got you where they want you....
Im still paying off my new HVAC I had installed what 3-4 years ago. It was 0% APR so that's why I chose the route.
Total vibes though for having a professional out to fix, saying its fixed, and it not really being fixed. Waste of everybody's time, money, and sanity.

AC vibes... i just replaced mine last month. probably needed to be replaced as it was approximately 20 years old. they came out and did the diagnostic, i was completely out of coolant and needed a few other parts replaced. conveniently the coolant for that model was older and they don't even produce it anymore due to its environmental impact, thus its way more expensive to replace. it would have been $3600 for all parts and coolant to replaced, or i could get a new one for $5800. so just financed that bitch and will pay it off when i sell my place this year. new AC is chill though.

My dad is an hvac/plumbing guru, he's retired to teaching young folks at the community College looking to get into trades. Very lucky we have him to help woth stuff at the house. My father in law is a great plumber too but he's got issues and you can't get him over to do anything, he can't even follow through with projects in his own home. My dad is the guy that if there isn't a project to work on he's making one up.

R-22 is now obsolete because it definitely ate holes in the ozone. And it was the most widely used refrigerant for decades. And it's #1 replacement - R410A? Duh! Also depletes ozone. We're going to stop making that soon too. Sorry.
