Love the pieces we have in place, but at the end of the day we have a rookie QB with at this moment very little chemistry with the offense
Hopefully I'm wrong, but I don't see us much better than where we were record wise last year

I was hoping the Bears played the Steelers this year because the funniest possible scenario is the Bears losing the game on a Justin Fields kick return for a TD.

They also have one of the easiest schedules in the league this year. They will have 10 or more wins, just wait. I don't care how they do as long as we see progression from the QB position, but they way they are built they are poised to have a ton of success |

The bears have the 4th easiest strength of schedule. They finished with a top 10 defense this year and they have added 4 offensive weapons in the off-season. Their qb will better, their receiving core will be better. Their line will be better. Jaylon Johnson was a top 10 corner in the league last year and Tyrique Stevenson was the best rookie corner and one of the best rookie players in the league last season. The way they are built, even with a rookie qb, they are poised to be over .500. They won 7 games last season with a qb who played like ass, if Williams just plays slightly better than Justin did last season there's no reason why they couldn't get 2 more wins than last season.
I may be a homer but I have plenty of rational to put out what I'm spitting out. This is a new era for Chicago Bears football and this team has the potential to take this league by storm for the next decade.

You may be right, but I'm pretty sure the panthers thought the same thing last year. You don't know what you have until you see it happen live and there are lots of other examples. |

bears fans have "won" the offseason every year now dating back for the last decade. until i see it come to fruition on the field with Williams, they will likely be mid. their projected win total at most sportsbooks is 8.5 or 9, so its not a stretch to say they can go 11-6 but they would have to get some lucky bounces in games for that to happen.

You're right Hokie, Williams could be a huge bust and as a Bears fan that wouldn't surprise me. But this all feels different, first off williams in inheriting a hall of fame receiver, another receiver who could be a hall of famer if he continues to play at the level he has been and a rookie receiver who, by all accounts, may have been one of the best players in the draft and it sounds like, skill wise, he is a mix of Moore and Allen which could be deadly. We have swift who is a great pass catching back which ghe bears haven't had in years and 2 other running backs who have both shown signs that they can run well and consistently in this league.
I would be willing to argue that this is the best offense a #1 draft pic has ever inherited. Now it will be up to him to reach his potential snd prove that he will be a franchise qb but this is an incredibly unique situation and I beleive the arrow is finally pointing up for the only nfl team that hasn't had a qb throw for over 4k yards

I don't think any bears fan has announced they won the off-season the last 5+ years. After the double doink season bears fan were pretty down and felt we were fading fast. On top of that once Poles took over he tore this team down completely, traded any asset they had including a potential generational linebacker and they started all over. I don't EVER remember a bears team being built like this and it is exciting. Anyone who calls themselves a bears fan should be excited and hopeful for the future of this franchise, and If you're not then you're not a true fan. If I end up being wrong and this team.is a major disappointment then I'm wrong, wouldn't be the first time, but I don't ever remember a bears team being built the way they are rifht now and jt is exciting. |

I won't dispute much of what you wrote Gerg except for the insane notion that DJ Moore could be a HOF'er. He's good, that's it. Football reference has his best career comps so far as Qadry Ismail, OJ McDuffie, Bert Emmanuel and Duriel Harris. He's never even made the Pro Bowl. DJ Chark has made the Pro Bowl. Good player. Keenan is going to the HOF, hopefully for you, he isn't already washed.
