Vibes ben! Our house flooded the first month after we moved in. There was a clog in the pipes.

House is flooding. First floor is fucked. Elevated what I could but my books are probably ruined and the lower shelf of records. Guitars and electronics are okay. I have a thought. If you let us know what you’ve lost, maybe for secret Santa this year we can each send you a replacement book or record? |

Massive rain storm. The bottom floor is basically underground but there is a window box to let light in from the garden level above. We got so much rain that it filled up like an aquarium and the started spraying in all over my stuff on the back wall. My guitar parts rack got hosed, all my vacuum tubes, two cases of microphones and 1 and a half bookshelves. The low couch got damp, the rug, various boxes, and guitars cases. It poured for like 5 hours but the water never got above 2 inches because I just left the door to the driveway open. At one point I put sandbags in front of the ledge and covered it outside with a tarp but it was just too much water. Three neighbors also had it happen because their same drains were also clogged.
But after, the hood came through. Like 10 people showed up after the rain stopped with a sump pump, brooms, and they even cleaned out the window box and the drain. The landlord was the first one helping me sweep out the water and she is rarely here. My other neighbor came over after work and he helped me pull out all the storage bins and get all the mud off the floor. Been at it for about 14 hours since 5am. Still don't have power down there which means no water pump to take a shower but we made some progress today. Next I gotta go through all the wet shit and see what I can salvage. Records seem okay.
