On Friday we are going with the girls to get a tree in the morning and then we are going to a local golf course that does a drive through light display. I don't know tradition, but I assume most families get their Christmas tree right after thanksgiving. This is probably the latest we've got a tree in a while.

My family thanksgiving dinner is Saturday and wife is going with her mom to visit grandma in florida Saturday so we decided to spend the week in TN in an area we like. We picked up a whole hen instead of turkey and then got some other traditional stuff and plan to make it all today after I'm done working.
It's been a nice week, making tasty food, good hike yesterday to a couple waterfalls and hit the only "bar" in the county which was a tiny dive outside of this small town ran by an old fella that lives on site. Friendly country folks and they smoke in there which I like.

One year my g.f. and I ran a Christmas Tree lot in the Bay area. This whole week was spent unloading trees from trucks and setting up around six lots so we could open day after Thanksgiving. Fun job once that part was done. Lived in a provided R.V. and ordered takeout from various restaurants for the next month. We made enough to fund six months in Mexico. The guy who owned the tree farm said he wanted to ship trees to Hawaii but when I brought it up with him a few years later he'd lost interest. That would've been awesome spending 5-6 weeks in Hawaii all expenses paid and making bank. Don't think I could handle the unloading part at my age anymore. Ah, to be young (34) again and be able to live like that.

Even if a movie he's in might be meh, John Candy never, ever, ever disappoints.

Hello, my family. I'm wishing you all the best of this holiday season. As. For our family crazy, we're heading out tomorrow early. Doing an untraditional Thanksgiving? What should be interesting none the less, but all the family will be there. And that's most important. I hope you guys have a wonderful Thanksgiving. With all my love.

My sister is baking a ham. I'm okay with that because we roasted a 19lb turkey two Sundays ago with lady's fam.
