I had to unfollow the Billy Strings fanpage on facebook. It has turned into a cesspool of pictures of goats, the number 33, and "billy should cover"
sucks how a critical mass of numbers always results in bullshit.

Pretty much the worst on the internet
All the jam grass fans I've met in real life have been really great folks. Weird how that works. I've found I enjoy the music more when I distance myself from the online fanbases

The camp greensky FB page is one if the most regulated groups in social media.
Just this week they posted a 2 page letter explaining the conduct of the group.
Someone that is admin must spend at least 40 hours a week regulating.
I'm with autophil here, I need to not see this shit online or i start to get jaded and judge everyone at the shows.
At this point I can pretty much say I don't like the greensky scene.

But the fan base started to go down hill 3 or 4 years ago. It got to the point where I just don’t even wana go to their shows much anymore. Some of the long term fans also act like they are the ones that made the music or something. The main mode guy takes his job suppeeerrrrrrr seriously. Seems like Billy’s fans are on track to surpass them at record speed if not already. |

Yeah I could feel the change around the same time.
I agree with the old fans think they are so cool if you saw them before 2015 or something. I've been given the cold shoulder and mean mugged if your not 'in'.
Not the fans and scene that the jamgrass culture was based on

But they are part of this crew that thinks they are better than everyone lol. You been seeing this band for like 5 years get off your high horse. It’s not a competition. Used to hang around the front at shows now I hang around the balcony close to a bar. |
