Tonight I am making havarti grilled cheese with bacon on whole grain Tuscany bread, homemade tomato soup (recipe swiped from Martha Stewart) and salads. Nothing says I'm done thinking of side dishes quite like salad.

I made rosemary raisin pecan bread the other day that I was going to turn into crackers. I made the mistake of adding pumpkin seeds and it made the bread a pain in the ass to cut. Next time the pumpkin seeds are getting 86'd

Does anyone have experience with Sous Vide? There is a really good sous vide thread on Phantasy Tour with a ton of pics and ideas from some knowledgeable folks. If you PT.

I'm planning on getting some really nice steaks to make a farewell dinner. Kinda stumped on a side dish though. Not doing baked potato... looking for something more interesting. Plus he can't have much salt and potatoes suck without salt.
Thinking about doing the reverse sear thing on the meat.
Any ideas on a low salt side or two? Obviously brussel sprouts or something like that would work, but I want it to be more memorable than a plain veggie.

I like asparagus and brussels sprouts, but they are plain veggies. Does a sweet potato bisque have a lot of salt? It's really good and would complement a nice steak well.
