Brautigan is the author of one of my all-time favorite short stories: 1/3, 1/3, 1/3.
After rereading it recently, I thought I might seek out something else by him (I had read Trout Fishing in America, but I didn't love it--I did like it, but it didn't live up to 1/3 x 3).
so, i found a "listening to Richard Brautigan" CD that Apple put out back in the day, ordered it and am awaiting its arrival. will let you know how it sounds, Treetop.

I finished rereading Tom Robbins' Jitterbug Perfume last night. Great book, but I'm not sure I'd still say it is his best one.

Has anyone read any of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels? I picked up The Color of Magic at a library book sale and I'm loving it. I'm reading online that it is not recommended that you read the books in chronological order, though, and there is a bunch of them. It seems there are different character's story lines that it is advised to follow. I'm probably going to end up buying more of the books online... discworldreadingorder.azurewebsites.net/

the Fowl books are a fun read.. not to complex but i find enjoyable

The Color of Magic reminds me of the fantasy books I would read on high school, but much more imaginative.

So apparently Flat Earth has been around for awhile...
Reading St King's 'The Dark Half' and he references Flat Earth Society....and that was published in '89....stupid fucks...lol
Thinking about delving into 'The Witcher' books...supposed to be really good...yes, the video game is based on them

The next book in the Discworld series has yet to arrive and I just finished The Color of Magic. I was trying really hard to pace myself until it was delivered, but I couldn't stop reading it the last couple afternoons. A quick, easy read and a fun and imaginative story. I hope the next book is in my mailbox at lunch tomorrow.

reading 2 books on intersections in science and music right now - one recent, one from 1937. the older one focuses on harmonics and the physics of the creation of sound, the newer one is more neurocentirc, details how the brain perceives music. enjoying both, but more in tandem than alone, so far.

I'm about to finish Fool by Christopher Moore. It's a comedic take on King Lear through the eyes of the court jester. It's good but not my favorite book of his.

Lamb is probably my favorite too with Fluke and Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove probably tied for second. Le Sacre Bleu was really good too. I'm going to try and get ahold of Noir next which is his newest one.

Just finished the Dharma Manifesto. Very well written, and learned a lot.
Just started Behold a Pale Horse by William Cooper
