IMO, it's the extremists who unfortunately define a society, be they any of the Abrahamic religions. My ex gf's step brother is half American/half Iranian. I've talked with him a bunch and seen plenty of videos he shot in Iran (he inherited his fathers farm and lives there). More people than most would think are straight up, middle of the road, mildly religious or not at all, just like the average person in the US. All of the Abrahamic religions are pretty wacky, far out, and violent. There's some crazy shit you can point to in the Old Testament that you can use to define the "others." The average amongst us have more in common than the extremists try to make us believe. Send all the extremists to an island with enough sticks and stones for all, scuttle the boats, and let them go at it. Who wins? Who cares? The non extremists of the world are the ultimate winners.
