I never seent Revanant and not sure why I like Leo as an actor but was told it’s icy cold and he gets chased by a bear while chasing an Oscar for a few hours. I’ll watch it eventually, just like Oppenheimer I’m not in a rush. I did watch Anna (2019) from writer and director Luc Besson and I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and the cast (again cillian Murphy does well) and the beautiful model turned actor Sasha Luss is exciting to watch as she John Wicks it up a bit. I also liked how the Russian language parts have no subtitles because it is cool just reading body language and facial expressions instead of reading the translations. I thought it was a nice touch. Helen Mirren is also great in it. Luc Besson is one sex pest that knows how to make good action movies. He wrote Taken, but didn't direct it for some reason.

I watched Citizen Kane this morning and it's still damn good. The old age make-up and aged acting was so well done.

We watched A Simple Favor or whatever the name of the one with that cute mousy but sexy Anna Kendrick and a stuckup snobby ass Blake Lively and both of em are scandalous drunk ass moms and it was very predictable and not great.
Usually train movies turn out pretty good but The Commuter starring a frustrated and old and not too skilled in kicking ass Liam Neisam and a confusing yet cunning Vera Farmiga and the special effects crew really jumped the train shark with its horribly low budget cinematography. Definetly not Taken On A Train.

We watched a Kevin Hart one about a week ago I think I failed to mention it but it was Josh Gad as a wealthy loser who somehow nailed down Kaley Cuoco for an upcoming marriage and dude has no friends and needs a Best Man and a crew of 7 groomsmen which throughout the movie they referred to as A Golden Tuxedo which was probably the original title before they changed it to a very forgettable tutor like The Wedding Ringer or some dumber name. Kevin Hart plays the hired best man as predicted and Josh Gad is very unfunny. The Golden Tux may have been a better title but the movie is kinda lame.

I watched The Equalizer 2 last night. I dug it, I'm a fan of watching Denzel be brutal AF and do Taken stuff. I need to check out the third movie now.

I have never watched any of those but funny enough, my brother texted me last night asking if I had watched any. Like you, he was watching the second one and enjoying it. Like I told him, it’s Denzel, it’s gotta be good. Does that guy make bad movies?

Yes he does sometimes. I'm not really into John wick type shit but I liked equalizer 1. 2 was OK. I think I turned 3 off. That cop movie with Jared Leto and Rami Malek was garbage too.

Rotten tomatoes actually has equalizer 3 rated as the best of them.

The Little Things…..don’t remember really what that was about but do remember I saw it in the theater because it was one of the first movies released there post-COVID and things somewhat opening up.

The reviews were bad but I thought it might be OK because Denzel can make a bad movie decent for at least one watch. I didn't finish it.

Denzel may be the greatest living actor. Flight and Malcolm X are years apart and wildly different characters but both contain stellar performances by him. Denzel will definitely take some paycheck movies but every actor does at some point. De Niro has done some absolute dogshit (Rocky and Bullwinkle, Righteous Kill...)
I watched Red Hook Summer last night, that movie was intense as hell. Clarke Peters is fantastic in the lead role, the kids are a bit stiff though. The twist is a little much but not implausible, people are complicated!

I can appreciate it but it's definitely an easy genre to fuck up and make tacky AF. The Equalizer movies wouldn't work with anybody except Denzel, he's giving an interesting performance in them. They're directed by Antoine Fuqua and he certainly knows how to use Denzel effectively. Bad directors will make bad movies even with solid talent.

Just finished The Iron Claw, what a depressing story and the somehow made it less depressing then it actually was. Zac Efron is very good in it as is Holt Macallany. The wrestling stuff was shot well.
