I'm about to see Kinds of Kindness. I'm the only person in this screening. Fun! My buddy and his wife showed up unexpectedly! It's a very odd movie but worth a watch. So fucking long though.

I enjoyed Horizon but I like Westerns and Costner. It's an "epic" with stunning scenery (probably an homage to the great old John Ford pics.)
Multiple story lines, you need to pay attention, very "realistic" violence. Guns and arrows miss and people don't immediately drop dead when hit. No real "good guys."
Only thing that bothered me was young 20 something chick with Costner. But then I remembered old ass John Wayne and young hot Angie Dickinson. Same with Clint I guess.
Was thinking maybe he could have done this as a limited Netflix series but he wouldn't have gotten the stunning panoramic shots.
Very much looking forward to the next chapters.

I might go see it because a podcast I like is going to start going over Costners movies soon. Interesting dude, it's ballsy of him to put so much of his own money into it.

I met Joe Black last night.
Kinda of boring and a little bit racist & long winded.

I watched Bamboozled last night and Im still thinking about it today. What a movie, unfiltered Spike Lee. Really interesting lead performance from Damon Wayans and really strong supporting cast (including David Wain in a small PA role). It's basically a remake of Network but what an interesting remake. Spike has rapidly become one of my favorite directors ever. What an amazing career of strong work with very few absolute misses.

We watched Beverly Hills Cop Axel F and it’s not that good but worth a watch for the nostalgia. No inspector Todd from Detroit PD but plenty of fuck bombs and no Captain Bogemill or his daughter but bullets fly everywhere. Eddie Murphy still has his moments and it’s nice to hear him swearing again.

We watched this one called Ruthless with Dermot Mulroney as the tough guy kicking peoples asses that really deserve it and Jeff Fahey is the sleazy villain who runs a human trafficking auction house with really shitty security cuz it seemed easy to infiltrate and Dermot Mulroney holds this resting dad face throughout the whole movie. It’s cheesy and violent fun.

I watched Arkansas on Netflix and it was a decent slow burn crime noir about hillbilly drug traffickers with not Thor but Liam Hemsworth and another dorky guy played by the writer director as low level shit baggers working for John Malkovich who spoiler alert works for a serious Vince Vaughn who’s the big frog and it flashes back to a cool segment how he got introduced to the dope game and grew his backwoods empire with the mentorship of Michael K Williams in one of his last roles good old Omar comin and honestly I dug the fuck out of this movie. Vince Vaughn got some serious roles in his old age.

I watched 4 Little Girls last night, I know this should probably be in "Doc Talk" but it's a Spike Lee film so...
Wowow. What an amazing movie and tragic story. The interview with George Wallace is fucking nuts. What an awful dude. His would be assassin is still alive and free.

Watched 'Before the Devil Knows You're Dead' right before going to sleep last night. Marisa Tomei was in my dreams. Eat your heart out, George Costanza.
