They re-released The Fellowship of the Ring locally so I might try and check it out in 4k theaters on Monday: Il Signore Degli Anelli (LOTR)

Speaking of Marisa Tomei we watched her academy award performance in My Cousin Vinny when Aunt May was only 26 and Joe Pesci was only 48 and Riceboy didn’t even recognize a young DanielSan in the murder rap and I’m wondering why they didn’t make a My Cousin Vinny 2.
Yesterday me n Riceboy watched The Running Man and it’s cheesy and the future of America looks bleak in 2019 but it’s still a fun action movie and I’m wondering why they didn’t make The Running Man 2.

Edgar Wright is working on a remake of it right now, that's gonna be a fun one. I watched Blackhat this morning, pretty cool Michael Mann movie that wasn't appreciated by audiences, bombed huge but it's a well made action flick.

The Running Man!
I watched Bernie with my Mom this afternoon, what a great movie. Richard Linklater has so many gems in his filmography.

Prime Cut. Lee Marvin and Gene Hackman (first movie after French Connection and playing a character named Mary Anne) in a kind of weird mob movie centered around the meat business and white slavery. Super young Sissy Spacek.

I really dug Prime Cut! Exactly what I want from a genre picture like that.
Just finished watching 127 Hours, fun Phish references and fantastic direction but such an anxiety enduring watch. Danny Boyle has such a gift for pacing and tone. Not planning on watching it again anytime soon though, it's fucking brutal.
I watched Jersey Boys before that and that was an interesting watch. Cool story and well directed by Clint. A little bit by the book but it's more interesting than Walk The Line.

Dracula Untold (Netflix) is a great origin story featuring a medieval Vlad the Impaler making a deal with the monster in order to save his family. It's only 90 minutes and is a balanced blend of action and drama.

We watched IF with the girls. They loved it. Sad but feel good movie.
The wife and I also watched Civil War over the weekend. It was good but not great. I liked the ending though

We watched Jaws last Friday. I projected it on the side of the house and we floated in the pool watching it. It was a cool experience. I've been wanting to try it for a couple of years now and it was mostly a success but we couldn't start the movie until 9:15 so it ran a little late, and it's complicated to set it all up. Otherwise it was neat with potential. I'm going to try and watch some other things on the house like college football at night or set up the PlayStation Move out there.

I do movies on the back patio, use a sun shade as a screen, or on a bigger portable screen we have in the yard. It is a pain in the summer waiting for it to get dark enough. Local drive in runs double features but it’s after 1:00 am by the time the second movie gets over and it’s on the other side of town.

We watched Beverly Hills Cop Axel F and it’s not that good but worth a watch for the nostalgia. No inspector Todd from Detroit PD but plenty of fuck bombs and no Captain Bogemill or his daughter but bullets fly everywhere. Eddie Murphy still has his moments and it’s nice to hear him swearing again. I enjoyed it alot. Like you, nice to see potty mouth Eddie back before he returns to the donkey life. I cracked up at the subtle dig at Beverly Hills Cop 3 they took. My favorite line in the movie was “I do some of my best work when I’m under suspension.” 🤪

I watched Elysium last night. It's a real 5.0/10. Some okay visuals and decent action scenes but nothing memorable. It's not particularly well directed, there's a lot of shaky accent work and too much information dumped in quick bursts.
I also watched Paper Moon over the course of a couple of days at work. That movie is so charming, Tatum O'Neal is so good in it.

^ That dude makes some fucked up, controversial movies. I've heard his prison movie is pretty racist but I've never watched it so...
I did watch The Lake House and boy, what a fucking dumb movie. High concept RomComs are pretty awful on average. It's so hard to connect with any of these characters, they're barely people.
