Split is a very fun movie. James Macavoy really goes for it and Anya Taylor Joy is excellent as well. M. Night definitely found "it" again or is at least making fun movies. I think you gotta know what to expect with his flicks now and that's okay.

I watched North By Northwest last night, such a cool score and so many iconic scenes. It's pretty whacky on the outset but gets much more compelling as it goes along. That Hitchcock fella has a future in the Biz (that's Hollywood talk for show business )

I watched Poetic Justice last night, I really dug it. Tupac was an electric performer and the movie goes at a nice pace. RIP to John Singleton and Tupac Shakur, both gone way too soon.

I watched Battleship where a drunken burrito thief becomes a naval officer like his brother so he can get the girl and then they save the world from an alien invasion in Hawaii! And a depressed Army veteran with no legs regains his confidence and helps! I'm pretty sure it was paid for by our U.S. military recruiting budget.

I watched Battleship about a month ago with a 15 y/o. I picked up the bluray for like $3 somewhere so I felt obligated to give it a go. We had fun watching the impressive cgi battle scenes but nothing made sense in this movie. Spoiler: the aliens have their own fighting ships that float, that's the best they could do in spite of having the technology to fly across the galaxy. Didn't even get a "you sank my Battleship"

We’re goin to see Alien Romulus in the IMAX and I’m pretty excited to learn it takes place between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986).

I watched Casa De Los Baby's this morning, a film by my hometown boy John Sayles. I really dug it, lots of good acting and an interesting setting. Marcia Gay Harden is an excellent actress.

We’re goin to see Alien Romulus in the IMAX and I’m pretty excited to learn it takes place between Alien (1979) and Aliens (1986). the new Alien movie is a great contribution to the Alien franchise and a lovely tribute to the first two films. The colony on Jackson’s Star is bleak and the lead role Rain is smart and you pay attention to he suggestions because she is usually making intelligent decisions and her bro is artificial or synthetic if ya wanna be a dick about it and the actors are great and well casted. The outer space shots are amazing to view and perhaps the best outer space shots in a movie maybe. It’s got horror for sure like the OG Alien (1979) and you gotta love how they depict that era technology with the dated computer screens etc and they do some great action sequences to honor Aliens (1986) including a reintroduction to the weaponry of the colonial Marines which fans will enjoy the specific chatter of the gunfire of those 10m explosive rounds. A very cool sequence of acid blood floating around in no gravity is cool and claustrophobic. Go see it in IMAX!

I watched Robin Hood (2010) this morning, it's a pretty easy watch but a little too long. It's well directed and has a few good big action scenes. Loaded cast.

We watched Aliens (1986) last night since we were in an alienesque mood and it’s still awesome but I do think another super tight movie can be inserted directly before that timeline that could show the standoff of the 70-80 families of the mining colony versus the alien invasion and perhaps they can recast Newt when she was in 2nd grade and her brother Timmy and her parents too even though we know it’s a sad ending for them but they really put up a legendary fight. They lead right into the marines showing up for the rescue with Ripley.
We are watching Alien 3 (1993) which is not great but it’s David Fincher’s big screen directorial debut and the guy had to start somewhere besides making Madonna music videos and he makes excellent movies usually.

I watched Unsane last night, really interesting movie visually but it definitely stretches plausibility at a few points. It's not A grade Soderbergh but it's very watchable & well paced. I really dig the stripped down look of newer movies. Dude rules.

I went to a 70th Anniversary showing of Rear Window last night with my mom, it's basically a perfect movie. Such a cool set and impeccable stage design. Jimmy Stewart is fucking great.

I watched Death Becomes Her last night. I remember it being a big movie when I was a kid but had never seen it. Great comedic performance from Bruce Willis.
