There are some really awesome older movies out there. The big sleep is great. Also a big fan of Double Indemnity.

Alfred Hitchcock made a ton of phenomenal movies that still hold up. Rear Window is so well done.

I am not saying that there were not good movies made during that 50 years, I just find them boring and would rather watch something more modern. Hitchcock is watchable to me but only because of the innovations he made with cinematography.

Those 50's movies have a style to their own that I find quaint and charming. It's probably not for everyone but I dig.
2 of my fav's: Giant - Singin' in the Rain

Cinematography is key. Touch of Evil is a cool movie.

It's a tough call. Do you judge Julia Sweeney baseed on 'It's Pat' or include other roles, small as they may be, like 'Pulp Fiction' which was a fine movie but not specifically because of her? Tim Meadows for 'The Ladies Man' or his supporting roles? There's just so much suck when it comes to ex-SNL members movies, it's a daunting task figuring out who sucks worse. Should probably divide movies that are based on or a continuation of SNL skits/characters and those where they're just ex-SNL players in a movie. The ones based on SNL skits tend to be worse, IMO. It's Pat is worth watching for all the Ween. And put on Ladies Man and you are getting laid. The only thing that works better for getting some are those old Benny Hill shows..
